Default Murrieta Rod Run- Nov. 8 & 9 (Fri-Sat)

The City of Murrieta is holding its first annual Rod Run on the above dates. If you have ever been to or worked at the Temecula Rod Run, it will be similar in nature, but on a slightly smaller scale being it is their first one. The Boys and Girls Clubs of Southwest County will be benefited by this event.

Due to the generosity of The Shootist gun store in Murrieta (24910 Washington Ave.), we will have our booth set up in their parking lot (24910 Washington Ave.) We will need volunteers to man the booth on both dates. If you can't work the booth, come down with your family and have some fun and stop by the booth.

The Rod Run begins at 4pm on Friday and goes to 7pm. Anyone working this day needs to be present around 2:30pm, so we can get the booth set up and our vehicles parked out of the way. The show runs from 8am-4pm on Sat. Anyone working this day needs to be there by 6:30am.

Similar to our contract with the Riverside Sheriff's Dept. during the Temecula Rod Run, we will have one with Murrieta PD. We will have two rifle racks that can hold 4 rifles or AR/AK type pistols each. No handguns please. ALL MAGS, AMMO and BOLTS will be left at home. If, by some chance, the rifle is still operable, you must remove any part that makes it so and leave it at home. We have had a successful run at the Temecula Rod Run for the last 3yrs. and we would like to do the same with Murrieta's. The public will not be permitted to touch the rifles as is done at a gun show. There will be signs posted to that effect.

If you will be bringing a rifle, please post it here and how many. You can only bring more than one if someone doesn't bring one as we can only have the 8. They will need to be zip tied as at a gun show and they will be zip tied to the rifle rack also for added security.

ETA*** Parking will be a problem. Washinton Ave. is the main drag for the Rods, so there is no parking there. There will also be no parking in the lot where The Shootist and the other businesses are as the Rods will be there. I have been told C St., which is North of The Shootist and the dirt lot across from The Shootist that used to be a bicycle store, are places to park your POV. There is an empty building at the dirt lot.
The Shootist is North of Ivy, so if you get off the 215 at Los Alamos, go West. Los Alamos changes names to Ivy at Jefferson and Washington Ave. is the second stop sign after it becomes Ivy. Make a right on Washington (North). Turn into the driveway on the right (East side) after the 6th old fashioned street light on the right. The store will be on the left. There is a large sign by the driveway that is easy to see.
