Yeah the grip is pretty comfy but leaves alot to be desired when it comes to maintaining a grip. The factory molded 'blocking' on the backstrap and finger grooves get really slick when your hands or gun get oily, sweaty or wet.

The Grip tape allows you to maintain your grip during these adverse conditions by increasing the ammount of friction, similar to the 25-30 lpi checkering you find on metal frames. Also not as drastic as stippling.

If Glock would have reversed the design of their 'blocking' I think it would work much better, as it is the 'blocking' designs makes it slick. Glock is addressing this with the RTF2 and Gen 4 design, but we will see how long those tiny dots last over time.
