M&P 22 is much more reliable but also more expensive. But it's a good full size 22.
P22 requires high velocity ammo to cycle and is picky with bulk stuff. Likes Rem golden bullets & CCI mini mags, but hates federals. Don't get it unless you like to do gunsmithing to get it running reliably with iffy ammo.
If you like the P22, I would check out the Ruger SR22 instead, almost the same size and eats anything.
