Absolutely. We have a friend with a Walther PPK. It's her nightstand gun. She hates it and when she brought it to the range, she fired it maybe 5 times. I put a magazine through it and it jammed three times, which I understand is a trait of that gun until it's well broken in. So, she hasn't even shot it enough to break it in and if someone broke into her home....chances are it would jam on her.

I realized this weekend that I have put about 1200 rounds through my Mak since the beginning of June. I know that gun and all of it's little quirks.
