Wow, lots of posts here for heavy guns...
I have carried most mentioned here, and for your stated type and frequency of use, I would go with an air weight 357 smith snub nose revolver. If the gun is heavy, you will not be as likely to carry it. Any Glock is a relatively heavy gun compared to the air weight. In a stress situation, the trigger pull is the same every time just like the Glock, and no safety, etc as well.
