Location is not the important thing. The most important thing is to be SAFE. You really must enroll in a Handgun Safety Class as a first step to learning firearms.

Most are one or two day classes, not terribly expensive. It's much better to learn from a professional than a friend or acquaintance.

Your schedule might be a problem, but I'm sure you can solve that. There are also private instructors who could give you the training you need to have.
