I haven't shot a rifle off a bench in more than a year-and that time was only because the indoor range I was at didn't allow offhand shooting.Shooting off a bench is against my religious beliefs.
For an understanding of the religious cult i'm a part of, read the holy book titled "The Art of the Rifle" by apostle Jeff Cooper. Enlightenment is found in the prone, sitting, crouched, and proper standing position.Bench rests are for the spiritually weak.
