Sorry, haven't updated my location in a couple years. I live in Ventura County now...

The trees produce a lot of nuts, but the squirrels harvest them before they are ready. Probably need to get rid of the squirrels. The nuts are also a lot of work. They need to be dried for a few days, but not too hot, then you have to get them out of their incredibly tough shell then toast them lightly in the oven.
