Want to learn to use a rifle safely and accurately? The Appleseed Project is a great way to get that going. And there is a version just for women, called Ladyseed.
"A Ladyseed is an Appleseed designed specifically for ladies. The ladies who attend a Ladyseed will learn much more than how to fire a rifle. The ladies will learn history and how women fought and aided on April 19, 1775. Many ladies walk away from an event with a renewed spirit not only in their country but from within. For many ladies a rifle range is unfamilar territory and can seem daunting. But at a Ladyseed the instruction and history make the event a comfortable learning enviornment. Regardless if you haven't fired a rifle before or are a competive rifle shooter, every woman has walked away glad they attended and signing up for the next event."
I think women's shooting classes are great and sometimes more comfortable for women just starting out. Sometimes it's good to get away from the tactical boys and just hang with the girlfriends... Not only that, but it's the best and least expensive rifle training I know of. There are really inexpensive rates for women and kids.

Ladyseed is being taught in California as follows:
Sacramento CA May 18-May 19
San Jose CA Jun 29-Jun 30
Glen Helen CA Sep 28-Sep 29
Don't feel limited to the Ladyseeds, you can hold your own in the regular 'mixed' Appleseeds. But sometimes it's nice...
