Irony abounds....

The AMC Grapevine theater where this is showing is generally boycotted by the north Texas concealed carry crowd because AMC theaters in Texas are all posted with the dreaded "30.06" signage, which specifically targets the holders of Texas CHLs, making it illegal for a CHL holder to carry their concealed handgun past the sign and into the theater. Since we are, by definition, a law-abiding bunch, we obey the signs and spread our money around elsewhere.

I donated to the crowdfunding campaign for this movie early on, but I have also vowed to never give my money to businesses that think I'm a greater danger to them or their customers than common criminals are.........because it is not a violation of TPC 30.06 for a criminal to carry their illegally concealed weapon past a 30.06 sign. They are violating other laws, but not that one. That sign guarantees that the only people who will be armed in that theater will be those who are illegally armed. Or cops.....and, with all due respect to Texas LEOs, the statistics show that CHL holders in Texas not only commit crimes at a lower rate than the general population, we commit crimes at a lower rate than LEOs do.

If you want a hint, the Tinseltown Theater in Grapevine is not only not posted with 30.06 signs, it has a history of showing indie-films with conservative or faith-based messages. If I were you, I would make it a point to see if your distribution network can get Tinseltown added to your list and show the move there. I would then be more than happy to buy tickets for other people to see this movie, as well as seeing it myself, so long as I don't have to be subjected to 30.06 signs.

You can create a screening in your area using www.tugg.com

utahjazzman 06-07-2013 10:40 AM

Ticket reserved for the Sacramento showing. Hope it gets more so it will show!

Cnynrat 06-07-2013 10:43 AM

When do you expect the AMC theatres will show Assaulted in their list of coming attractions and/or have tickets available for sale?

As of this AM the Orange AMC-30 still doesn't show the movie as a coming attraction.

Two more just bought.

Jmpgfoto,
I'm in Lancaster also, if you get it set up let me know by PM. Thanks.

VAReact 06-07-2013 1:39 PM

Received an email back from Tugg regarding a showing in Van Nuys at the Plant 16. Will reach out to Kris and Tugg after work today to get things finalized.

ETA: There are only six days left to fill the theater. Based on the other Tugg event interest level, it may be best to just attend an already scheduled Tugg.

ETA: Burbank opened more seats -not going to pursue this at this time.

I put in a TUGG request. Havent heard back from them yet. I also notified the Boulevard Cinemas here in Lancaster to get the film as they playindie films all the time along withthe major films. The Blvd Theater is a very nice small theater with lounging recliners as seats stadium type and they serve bear and wine in 3 of their 4 screens. Nice place and love to go lcal and see it. We shall see.

kaligaran 06-07-2013 7:56 PM

As a kickstarter backer, I'm so excited to see the ticket sales of the TUGG events.

Of the ones listed on calguns as of this posting:
Rancho Cucamonga: 43 sold, 35 to go
San Francisco: 33 sold, 45 to go
Bakersfield: 32 sold, 41 to go
San Diego: 50 sold, 28 to go
Tustin: 64 sold, 14 to go
Sacramento: 63 sold, 39 to go
San Jose: 78 sold CONFIRMED - only 24 seats left total

Are there any early sales numbers for the non TUGG events? I figured those would be more of a walk up and buy your tickets but I figured I'd ask. :)

BTW, I'm wearing my Assaulted shirt to the showing for sure. :)

CitaDeL 06-07-2013 10:29 PM

A request for a TUGG event has been made for the Redding/Anderson area. Chime in via PM if you are interested in viewing the film local to Shasta County.

Cali-Shooter 06-08-2013 8:18 AM

I just checked the Orange AMC 30 web site and they are still not listing the movie as a coming attraction or showing it on the schedule for the opening weekend.

When do you expect them to show Assaulted on their schedule?

Currently 18 seats left at 7:30 Burbank showing on 20th.
I've got my two tickets.

rbrower 06-11-2013 2:47 PM

I joined Tugg and began requesting a showing in Marin County but stopped when I saw I'd be required to sign a large legal document. It would be nice for CalGuns attorney to review the agreement and perhaps target local shops to participate/back this. I believe Marin/San Rafael could easily fill the seat requirement and there is a Century theater within shotgun range of Bullseye:-). I'll preorder 4 tickets.

Where do you find this info for all of the California theaters?

I'm hoping there is like a master list rather than checking each one individually.

dsmoot 06-11-2013 4:17 PM

What happened to having it shown through AMC (not tugg)? It looks like the one for AMC Orange doesnt have enough people yet, but I thought that that theater was supposed to get it as the AMC release on the 20-23rd?

You are correct, the AMC Orange screening will be a 3 day showing. This theater is part of the nation wide release.

The times should be posting by the end of this week. :D

Tell all your friends.

A representative of tugg.com indicated that they do not do business with Valley 11 Cinemas and recommended the local Cinemark theaters. This presents a problem, since Cinemark is a posted "No Firearms" venue. The rep indicated that they might be willing to onboard Valley 11, but it could take until August to make the screening a possibility.

Having recieved no expressed interest from forum members in the vicinity and a probable wait of two months to get a screening event, I will wait for the DVD.

I had manually checked each one. :(

EDIT: That list that I had above was the TUGG events only.

I've got my two tickets.

Being a pathetic loaner I have my 1 ticket purchased :D

I hope its good

BTW- This is FAR more difficult to find, purchase and clearly pass along the info than it should be and its hurting us. As I see it now it is going going to be preaching to the choir... the marketing behind this has been awful and we need to take a look at this for future shows IMO.

cranemech 06-12-2013 5:26 PM

I'm not too keen on the way that Tugg sells the tickets. The Sacramento show has been "sold out" twice. Once they sell out, they make more tickets available. I wonder what the rationale is for for this strategy? I would think once the movie has met the minimum ticket sales the theater would open up all the remaining seats.

Some people were looking for tickets, saying that they were sold out. I checked the Tugg website and another 50 tickets had been made available. Hopefully the people looking for tickets recheck the website. I sent a PM to the people that posted that they were looking for tickets.

I found a list here, click on "theaters" and then "Tugg theaters".

I'm not sure if that is what you're looking for though.

calbearz 06-13-2013 12:41 AM

Looking for two (2) tickets to the 20th showing in San Jose if anybody decided they can't go for any reason!

PM please

Thanks,

glennjr15 06-13-2013 6:10 AM

Just saw this one in Redondo Beach, but it isn't until the 26th:

I wish Burbank had more showings :-(. It's already sold out.

turbohatch 06-13-2013 9:21 PM

Hey everyone I started a showing in Van Nuys at the Regency Van Nuys Plant 16. The soonest date I could get was July 18th @ 730. I hope everyone in the San Fernando Valley can make it. Also they wanted to know if we had any special events planned, any ideas? Maybe Calguns can set up a booth or something? let me know
