Attic Arisaka?

Dont know the full story on this yet but it was my great grandfathers. I guess my mom had forgotten she had it? Should make for a fun research project this weekend.

Not sure yet. Found a link on how to break it down and was going to do so this weekend. I will report back with pictures.

I found this online and its true of mine also......

"Many of the Chrysanthemum Seals were completely ground off, but some were merely defaced with a chisel"

Very cool. I wonder if it once belonged to one of my late relatives? :p

Updates?

Looks like a Type 38 with a School marking on the receiver. A photo of the serial number area will disclose the Arsenal and other bits of info. Parts should match on an assembly number and not to the serial.

Be careful with the staked screws. I suggest that you leave them alone.
