Dillon Order Wait Support Group Thread

Just kidding......but seriously, I am one of those in waiting at the moment. Just bought a XL 650 with all the bells and whistles, quick change kits, quick change priming systems, Casefeeder and plates, and nearly everything else for .223, .308 and .45 ACP. This does NOT include dies as I already have die sets for each. Came out to just shy of $1400

Only problem: 3-5 week wait! I need prayer and well wishes for patience.....this wait is going to be tough :chris:

$$$ well spent. You'll love it. You'll kick yourself got not getting it sooner.
Welcome to the Blue;)

Coltken 01-13-2013 10:22 PM

I also ordered the 650, im going without the casefeed and powder alarm.. Havent heard a time frame yet.. Ordered it about two weeks ago though... :/

STI 01-13-2013 10:28 PM

I happened to order my xl650 a few days before the shooting and I got it in a few days, really fast shipping. Unfortunately now components are scarce.

EL_NinO619 01-14-2013 12:41 AM

Congrats on the press, Spend your waiting time searching for components. You will need it.

The one down side to a progressive, You run out of components very fast.

I have found that components arent that bad, except for one item: Small Rifle Primers! I cant find them ANYWHERE! I have one brick left, and then I have one more brick of small rifle mag primers from when I used to have a 6.5 Grendel. I might have to break into those and use em up, and back down an additional 10% on the load :(

I use SRM for all my .223 loads that use ball powders anyways so I donít see that as a negative. You might find you actually like them better.

Congrads on purchasing great presses!!!

RacerX7 01-14-2013 6:02 PM

I order a ton of stuff (over $1K) on 1/4/13 for my 650. I received part of the order on Saturday (RT1200, Super Swager and trim dies). The rest was backordered (case feeder, plates, dies and other small parts). Hope they come soon. You're going to love your 650 when it comes in, I do even without the case feeder.

prc77 01-17-2013 9:37 PM

Yesterday ordered 650 with casefeeder, rifle plate, 9,40 and 223 dies, one quik change, conversion kits, mount, roller handle, super swage, and a bunch of other goodies, about $1900 worth. No telling when it will arrive.

Last year Giraud Trimmer found its way to my bench.

Components are plentiful,, for now.

bruce381 01-18-2013 6:53 PM

I have had one 25 years or so you will love it

ZNinerFan 01-18-2013 7:30 PM

which dies did you order?

ZNinerFan 01-18-2013 8:37 PM

Carbide .223 and Carbide 9mm dies. I just don't have much luck when it comes to getting my reloading stuff in a timely manner.

I'm still waiting for the Forster Co-Ax to be in stock with Brownell's/Cabela's.

DRAB_81 01-18-2013 10:11 PM

After building my fourth AR, I finally decided to keep one, so I ordered everything I'll need for my 650 to load 223.

I ordered all this through Brian Enos on 1/7, but in all the madness it sounds like he's sending orders straight to Dillon.

RT1200 Trimmer
223 Trim Die
223 Steel Dies
Universal Decapping Die
223 Caliber Conversion Kit
SR Casefeed Plate
Super Swage 600

Brian never stocks dillon reloading components. He has them drop shipped from Dillon to your house. It is because of this that he has to charge your card immediately instead of waiting for shipping because he's got to put the order in to Dillon.

Good to know.

the_tunaman 01-18-2013 10:34 PM

Yeah, I can sympathize... I ordered a Super 1050 set up for .223, with an extra toolhead, the RT1200B and the RF 1000 and am in the same boat.

Of course, as mentioned since components are a challenge to locate it makes the wait a little more tolerable.

Hope we all get our orders fulfilled soon!
Roger

Maddawg46 01-18-2013 11:40 PM

Back in the late 80s primers became very scarce. Since then I never let myself run too low. After this craziness subsides, let it be a lessen. Stock up! I still have all components for loading all calibers. Yes a lot are 20 years old.

Maddawg46 01-18-2013 11:42 PM

Yep in 1990 Winchester large pistol primers were going for $14 for a brick. Makes you kind of sick....huh?

I recieved the RT1200 trimmer, 223 and 308 trim dies, Super Swager and 223, 9mm case gages about a week after I ordered. the rest of my stuff was back ordered. I ordered directly from dillon.

ZNinerFan 01-19-2013 7:47 AM

While waiting for the other stuff to show up I'll put together my bench. I just got this kit in yesterday and need to get the wood for it:

http://www.amazon.com/2x4basics-9016...ords=bench+kit

Anyone use one of these kits as the basis for their reloading bench?

I am going to go with 8 feet long and 4 feet wide for the dimensions.

Oh and back to the Dillon topic, I also have a super swager waiting to show up too. I ordered it along with the dies I mentioned in my previous post from Brian Enos.

prc77 01-25-2013 9:40 PM

Some items showed up yesterday.

3 tool heads
primer flip tray
roller handle
40 dies
9mm conv. kit
bins
calipers

everything else BO'd

the_tunaman 01-25-2013 9:51 PM

At least you got something to keep you interested... still waiting for a delivery and have already read through the PDF manual twice cover to cover at this point.

Hoping next week brings many boxes!

Roger

Bart430 01-26-2013 10:17 AM

I ordered a 550 from Brian, no telling when it will show. I need to get some conversion kits for a 45-70 and 308 also. I may just order them from Dillon so my credit card wont be charge until its shipped. But overall I would order from BrianEnos.com for anything. He responded to my email questions and made some good recommendations. I cant blame him for the wait, but I do plan on exercising a right they are not trying to take away in Nov. :gunsmilie:

ZNinerFan 01-26-2013 7:00 PM

Got my 9mm dies in but am still waiting in the .223 dies and Super Swager.

tiller 01-26-2013 9:44 PM

If you read on there site it says it takes 3-6 weeks to ship

prc77 01-28-2013 9:13 PM

another box on the way, only 9lbs. so its not the press

Coltken 01-29-2013 8:06 PM

Just received Fed Ex email confirmation. 650 is on its way!

Coltken 01-29-2013 9:16 PM

I take that back.. Shipped item is only 4.7lbs. Must be the super swage.. :(

oddjob 01-30-2013 11:17 AM

I was at Dillon's Monday with some friends. A customer asked to buy some 9mm dies and the guy behind the counter said they were all out. They are having problems getting raw materials to make the dies. He said it was quick and easy to make the dies, but the materials were tough to get. I'm guessing its the same with the machines themselves.

The showroom had a few boxes of different reloading machines. They did have powder & primers though. They were really busy with just foot traffic. Their lines for the debit/credit cards went down due to heavy traffic when I was there.

prc77 02-01-2013 6:43 AM

update: casefeeder and 9mm dies showed up last night, still no press yet

RacerX7 02-01-2013 9:49 AM

My credit card was charged the remainder of my order... should be getting something soon

Stkx66 02-01-2013 8:08 PM

I was home at lunch reading this very thread thinking I have a few more weeks of wait time when I heard a couple of sliding thuds on my porch.
Sure enough my 550b ordered through BrianEnos showed up. I thought it was going to take longer... I'm very pleased. Now it's time to find a bench.

DRAB_81 02-01-2013 8:34 PM

For the guys that are receiving whole or partial orders, what was the order date? I'm trying to figure out how long of a wait I have ahead of me.

Coltken 02-01-2013 9:14 PM

Well, I stand corrected again.just been informed i have atwo packages from Dillon, one xl650 and one smaller package that im assuming is my SS600 and dies. I ordered from Dillon directly around 12/28

ChrisToad 02-01-2013 10:45 PM

I'm also in need of this support group. Was going to order 650 in November but waited to see how much $ I'd have left over after the holidays. Doh!

I see a charge for about $600 on my credit card from grafs, but I'll betcha that's the case feeder and accessories... No press. Argh!

TATB 02-01-2013 11:06 PM

I ordered my 550B on 01/11/13 and the two final packages with the press, 9mm die set etc. arrived today.
