what exactly is "extended shelf life"

prepper_jeff 01-04-2013 9:13 AM

Good question! It means it will last up to 25 years under the right conditions. Room temperature or cooler.

I always wondered about this. The bucket is filled with sealed pouches. If one were to open the bucket to try out some of those pouches, that shouldn't affect the shelf life of the remaining pouches right?

How many adults is this meant for? I see some are 2 servings each.

Good video that shows the portion sizes, they're large:

madoka - opening the bucket does not have any affect on the remaining pouches.
-G- - There are 58 total servings in this bucket. That's a little over 8 servings per day. Depending on the appetite of the person/people eating the food, it will feed 2 - 4 people for 1 week.

fredridge - I would not recommend storing in your garage. Unless it's sealed and climate controlled, these definitely won't last as long as they could. I cannot even put a time frame on it since LA gets really really hot for months on end. If you're planning on having just one or two on-hand, I would suggest making a spot in a closet. Hope this helped?!

Happy Prepping!

Are any of the contents in the bucket:
1) Made in a facility that processes nuts and/or shellfish?
2) Contain nuts and shellfish?

My wife has a severe nut and shellfish allergy, and we are having a hell of a time finding pre-packaged that are free of these allergens.

what are the ingrediants to the packets? Is there any MSG or Aspertaime? The website has no description area as to tell what the nutritional information is. Please post the info.

Looking to lay in at least a month of supplies for a few people here at work and want to get the best bang for the companies buck.

In your opinion, how do the Wise Co meals stack up against the Chefs Banquet meals per caloric intake and sodium?
