popped my c&r cherry
Well I decided to use my c&r license finally and ordered a Chinese sks from century. Now I just have to wait for it to come in.
Has anyone else bought one of these from century? I've seen people post of ones from jgsales but not century.

Just a guess, if Century has them, they probably were the importer, which mean they shouldn't be all that different than what other distributors are selling. Hope you get a nice one and give us some pics when it comes in!

All of the Century SKS I have seen lately on some other boards are REALLY beat up, more so than the Classic and J&G guns. If you can get one with decent metal, you can always order a nicer spare stock and keep the thrashed Chinese one for if you ever sell it. I only care about the bore and if it has rust. I kind of dig the almost no bluing patina look, looks kind of cool, but I can't abide by rust.

Good luck and post pictures. You never know, you may get lucky, I have seen a few from this batch that were actually really quite nice.

I plan to take a lot of pics when it gets here. I ordered one of the good condition cracked stock ones they had. Figured it would be a little better than a fair condition rifle. I'm looking forward to cleaning Cosmo off another rifle.
I'm looking at one of the mosin nagant mod 53 from j&g since I sold my last mosin and have 4 cans of ammo still.

I agree with Capybara - I've seen (on other forums) SKS's on century; really-really beat up! However it's true; the stock can be replaced, it's the bore that's really important. If the bore is crap then you prob won't hit the board-side-of-a-barn. I don't know about the rest of you but I don't collect wall-hangers, I collect shooters (although they do look good on a wall!) BTW - Congrats on your first C&R purchase - WARNING: IT IS HAZARDOUS TO THE HEALTH.... OF YOUR WALLET!
