What do YOU do with 8lb jugs once emptied?

I just emptied my 1st 8lb jug of Varget and am wondering if people keep these around for useful purposes...

My 1st thoughts were Air-tight-Ammo storage tucked away in case ammo gets really expensive, or range brass transport back home...

What do YOU do with them, I am curious?

You should give it to me or save it in case you need another container to put powder in. :D

Your thread is what reminded me that I have an empty now (and I am not giving it to you..). :p

Mine get tossed into the recycle can. I go through them pretty fast.

Katch 12-04-2012 1:31 PM

You use airtight jugs for catfishing if you're not in CA

Divernhunter 12-04-2012 2:26 PM

I just toss them.

CEDaytonaRydr 12-04-2012 2:29 PM

I usually save 1lbs jugs so that when I buy 8lbs jugs, I can refill them and divvy some powder out to my friends/family. Hard to do that with 8lbs jugs. I usually just throw them away. They take up a bunch of shelf space...

take to range, fill with water... you know the rest.

The term "used" did not automagically constitute "ridden hard, and put away wet"... :)

my friends keep a handful around that they can use later for brass carry or fun at the range. they recycle the rest so they dont pile up.

Filled with water, they make great shotgun slug targets.

I like to tape an old digital watch to the side and then run thin colored wires (after being coiled up, smarty pants!) from behind the timer to the lid and then leave it in my trunk. You NEVER know when you might need it. And besides, April 1st is just a few months away...

Same here

shadowofnight 12-07-2012 6:43 AM

Most of them get tossed in the recycle bin, but the wide mouth ones ( Like my big jugs of Unique ) get used for brass.

You set them down and ignore them, since you now have a pile of reloaded ammo and some long trips to the range.

Inkman 12-08-2012 10:20 PM

Brass storage.
