I hate when I think that I'm on the search for a unicorn, and it was right there at Midway the whole time.

No. According to Kim Un Jong the Unicorn is in North Korea LOL!!!!

is it legal to have a 5rd detachable mag for hunting i thought it had to be fixed.

bohoki 12-03-2012 5:24 PM

i think he means those chinese ones that sit flush

i had a couple but i sold them on ebay for like $40 i had no idea there is such a demand for those little suckers

cant have detachables on an sks

but a yugo 59 and 59/66 are not technically an sks

Moonshine 12-03-2012 5:44 PM

Detachable mag on an SKS... Technically because a Yugo is not an SKS a detachable should be lawful but who wants to be a test case for that?

devster55 12-03-2012 6:05 PM

i sure dont

bohoki 12-03-2012 6:49 PM

you can make it fixed by drilling a little hole above the catch area of the plastic and puting in a crosspin for the front of the trigger group to hold onto it

but i wouldnt use a promag unless i owned a hi power and it was the last mag on earth only just to be able to shoot it single shot

i think im going to buy a normal sks fixed mag and pin it and just use that cause they are cheap.

you should check how the canadians block them they have 2 ways

weld a block in the bottom of the floorplate body or weld a verticle rod on the follower rod as a stopper

i'm not sure why you need to limit it to 5

I am pretty sure there is no 5 round limit in Calif. for hunting.

There is not. You can use 100 round drums if you have them. The only hunts that require limited magazines are typically upland game or migratory birds, when hunted with shotguns. In which case you are limited to no more than 3 shells total fitting in the shotgun.
