Any advice on not too costly materials? I am running the 1911 group buy for ares 80's and want to get some learninh done before i jump in and break something. Thanks guys.

I think this was first printed in 1986 and can be found used on Amazon. This is the best book I've seen so far. Bob

there's also this. i haven't read it, but i own the companion volumes about AR-15s and M14s, which are very good.

Books are definitely not cheap. Neither are tools. I didnt consider those either. I found a good website with lotsa info too.
