NEW LODI FFL

I have heard that a new gunshop is opening in Lodi this month. Lodi guns,on Lodi Ave? If the owner is a member of Calguns, lets hear about it!

jimsu 11-13-2012 8:50 AM

I was in a class with him in mid-October and he said that he was hoping to be open in 4-6 weeks which would put opening around the end of this month.

Do you know if he is selling/buying guns as an FFL or is he going to do gunsmithing as well?

jimsu 11-13-2012 6:33 PM

He is doing sales for sure. I don't know about buying guns nor gunsmithing.

Zedrek 11-16-2012 5:05 PM

Whatever happened to Nick's Gun Works? I bought a couple of 10mm's from there a few years back but their website has been down ever since.

crob 11-16-2012 7:27 PM

If I am not mistaken he (Nick's) got shot during an attempted robbery a few years back. I believe he is okay, not sure if the shop is still open though. Drive by it pretty frequently, but it never looked open even when I was positive they were still in business.

OldShooter32 11-16-2012 7:35 PM

Nick is retiring from his shop. Taking awell-deserved retirement.

DEPUTYBILL 11-17-2012 7:09 AM

Nick is planning to close the shop @end of this year. 42 years in business, and time for retirement. That was one reason I was asking if anyone knew if the new shop was going to do any gunsmithing.

DEPUTYBILL 11-17-2012 7:14 AM

Nicks is open tuesdays/10-6 thursdays 10-6/saturdays 10-2.

Zedrek 11-17-2012 11:49 AM

Lodi is a three hour drive away for me. I did a PPT for a Colt Double Eagle 10mm there and spotted a Wyoming Arms Parker 10mm. Had to make the return trip in 10 days.

Did a PPT at Nick's shop today. They are open.

DEPUTYBILL 11-27-2012 7:20 PM

A friend of mine txt me that he drove by the store today, and the roll down doors were up,and there were people inside painting. Hopefully will be open in time for a xmas present to myself!

This is the new gunshop on Lodi ave. I think it will be called Lodi Guns, but there is no name on the building yet. Business license is under LODI GUNS.

Zedrek 11-27-2012 7:51 PM

He used to have a website that had a list of all his guns but it has been out of order for about a year now. I called him a while back and he said something about getting new web service but nothing yet. Disappointing, he had some good stuff listed.

If you are talking about NICK'S,the web site went down because of issues with former employee's/relatives. It will not be back up. He still has a lot of older winchester bolt and lever action rifles on the rack. As I said earlier,Nick is planning to retire at the end of this year,or begining of next year.

DEPUTYBILL 12-04-2012 6:12 AM

Went by the new shop yesterday. Still closed,no activity. Hopefully open before xmas!

DEPUTYBILL 12-12-2012 2:16 PM

Drove by the store today. Rollup metal doors were up,lights on,but sign said closed. Still hope for pre-xmas opening!

BTAzombieHunter 12-14-2012 9:55 AM

DEPUTYBILL 12-14-2012 6:23 PM

Too late for xmas gift, hopefully open in time for a new years gift to myself!

MSL209 12-27-2012 7:07 PM

Does anyone have an address for this place?

DEPUTYBILL 12-28-2012 7:43 AM

ARGunner 12-28-2012 3:40 PM

scootergmc 12-30-2012 9:33 PM

What about Professional Firearms right down the street? Are they still open?

DEPUTYBILL 12-31-2012 3:18 AM

Yes,he is still open, but I am not sure of his hours.

DEPUTYBILL 12-31-2012 3:22 AM

Nick's is still open too. Most of his stuff is older bolt and lever action long guns, and some nice older consignment handguns. Plans are still to retire, but may stay open for another month or so.

I bought a ring alignment/lapping kit there right after he opened. Seemed like a nice enough guy.

DEPUTYBILL 01-04-2013 8:28 PM

I stopped at the new shop today, still closed. Called the shop number and the owner answered. Said they were not open yet. I told him I was parked in front, and he had me come to the door. He invited me in the shop. Lots of space for guns and related stuff, but nothing out on display. He hopes for an opening next week. Will not be doing any gunsmithing. He plans on taking guns on consighment,as well as new stuff. Seems like a nice guy. Hope he stays on schedule and opens next week.

DEPUTYBILL 01-08-2013 5:05 PM

Sign on door says target date is 1-24-13 for opening

Joe22 01-08-2013 5:31 PM

Ya I stopped by there today as well and read that sign.

Joe22 01-08-2013 5:33 PM

Drove by Nicks as well and he was open. Professional Firearms looks closed up but still signs on window. Did not stop and look in windows.

DEPUTYBILL 01-08-2013 8:25 PM

I was at Prof. Firearms today. Very open with about 12 customers inside, buying and picking up.

DEPUTYBILL 01-24-2013 5:55 PM

Update to bump it up. Move in activity this week. I will go by Friday, and see if they are open the 25th,like their sign said!

jimsu 01-24-2013 6:16 PM

I called today and the voice mail said to call back in a few days.

DEPUTYBILL 01-25-2013 6:11 AM

I hope the owner started ordering guns and ammo months ago,and has it stockpiled. If not he could have a really hard time.

DEPUTYBILL 01-25-2013 11:37 AM

Went by today,note now says 1-29-13 !
