Where's there a Dick's that sells firearms?

Hoshnasi 11-12-2012 7:34 PM

Any thoughts on those safes? I'm looking for a safe. Either the smallest or second smallest will fit in the area I have planned.

Just called Huntington Beach and the girl on the phone confirmed that indeed they do. Whoohoo!

larryb 11-14-2012 4:16 PM

San Luis Obispo also sells firearms.

Thanks for the info, Nirrad!
It's quite a far drive for me, but I might as well hit up the beach while I'm down there.. ;)

Do any of their stores closer to the IE carry firearms?

lorax3 11-15-2012 7:17 AM

$159 for the 12GA Maverick isn't bad. Normally the sale price is $199.

Anyone know which San Diego stores sell firearms?

The new one that opened by sports arena sells long guns

Shooting_Laser 11-15-2012 8:52 AM

Can anyone tell what barrel length Maverick Dick's is selling? The small print in their ad is unreadable, thanks in advance.

Japsican 11-15-2012 9:14 AM

I have plenty of long guns, but that price is smoking!!!

ncrotalus 11-15-2012 11:16 AM

Hopefully this is not too dumb of a question, but im not too familiar with rifles yet. On the remington website I saw two 700 varmint models, the sps and the varmint sf. Does anyone know which one is the sale model? Thanks

roadtrip 11-15-2012 11:42 AM

http://www.remington.com/en/product-...enterfire.aspx

It's an ADL Varmint. I had been wondering the same thing, and had to do a bit of digging to find out.

newglockster 11-15-2012 11:45 AM

the store in Modesto sells guns too.

ncrotalus 11-15-2012 12:02 PM

Thanks road! I'm sure it's been discussed before, but, in a nutshell, what's the difference between the adl and the sps and other 700 models?

Is the adl still as customizable as the others seem to be?

roadtrip 11-15-2012 12:10 PM

It seems like the real difference is the goofy camo stock (but both the SPS and the ADL models seem to have equally crappy stocks), and the fact that the ADL doesn't have a hinged floorplate. If you're intending to throw this action/barrel into another stock (and perhaps add a DBM setup), there's really no reason to favor one over the other.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

roadtrip 11-15-2012 12:57 PM

It appears that Huntington Beach is the only Dick's store in the general LA area that carries firearms. Bummer.

Yeap, you are right,I called Tustin Location and they say HB is only place sell firearms.

6789olds 11-15-2012 1:06 PM

Oxnard dicks has guns but its Ventura county

tima 11-15-2012 1:22 PM

I've also confirmed that Huntington Beach is the only one in the OC area that sells firearms. The guy at the Ladera Ranch location tried to talk me into paintball guns  The Remington 700 seems like a great deal. How long you think that lines going to be?

roadtrip 11-15-2012 2:49 PM

Well, it seems like San Diego, Ventura, or HB are the only options. Of those, HB is the closest to me, and it would still be about an hour's drive...for something that's not a sure thing, I don't think I'm going to try.

Ventilated Rib barrel (doesn't say if 28" or 26") or 18 1/2" HD barrel

mike21 11-15-2012 4:15 PM

I'm thinking of picking up that 32 plus 6 safe at dicks here in bakersfield. For the price it seems good enough for my needs. I know it's not a 1200 liberty safe but it should be good enough since I have a home alarm also.

Hoshnasi 11-15-2012 5:11 PM

I guess I should call Dick's, can the 700 be purchased in .308 for the sale price?

mike21 11-15-2012 6:09 PM

Ad says it comes in different calibers for that price. I'm sure you can if its in stock still

xBEEFEDGEx 11-15-2012 8:22 PM

Just got back from Dicks HB - They do not stock the Stack-On Sentinel 48 gun safe, only the small stack on cabinets, and the field and stream 'safes'. I'm in the market for a safe, and to be honest, the field and stream safes are more like cabinets. They're not epoxy painted, and you can knock on them and they sound like knocking on a file cabinet. It's to be expected for a Black Friday safe. I was really hoping for the Stack-on sentinel 48 gun safe in the ad.

I called the Dick's in Huntington Beach. They only had a few different calibers. He said they had a .308 or two. Sounded like mostly .223s.

Lol, I called them too. The girl on the phone said "We have had quiet alot of people calling on the 700 tonight." haha

Wife shot me down. I won't be purchasing a 700. Hopefully still getting a big safe this year though.

lorax3 11-16-2012 6:42 AM

Going to hope the rebate on the Remington 700 is a special deal with Dicks and not just a mis-print. If you go to the Remington current rebate page, it only lists a $40 mail in rebate for the 700.

Ruger 10/22s for $179! I just might get one.

classwarfare 11-18-2012 3:36 PM

I did it! Sale on 10/22s started today. Gun, dros, and tax $219 plus change out the door. Got the next to last one in San Luis Obispo.

Calibers for the Remington 700 include .223, .243, and 22/250 plus whatever they get in.

SCMA-1 11-20-2012 3:10 PM

No firearms/Ammo sales at nearby Dicks stores. WTF?

How lame: Virtually all of the Dick's Sporting Goods stores in my area (Los Angeles/ Orange Co., do not carry firearms or ammunition, I just went to my local store which is approx. 2 miles away, but there are not guns or ammo..:( It's a real shame, because they have some nice deals advertised in the Black Friday sale ad. Will have to settle for something at Big Jive or Turner's for this BF I suppose.

My store said prices weren't good till Friday. BTW the San Diego store said they had about 70 of them.
