1/184 IN

Is anyone here in the 1/184 IN? Specifically A Co? I will be headed that way from Active duty and wanted to know how that unit works as well as begin meeting the people who are in it. Someone from the Monterey County area would be perfect as I will be living in Salinas.

Bump-
It is a CA National guard unit by the way

When I was with the CalGuard they were an air assault battalion. I heard that changed, but not sure. Many of the background extras for "We Were Soldiers" came from 1-184.

They were a pretty squared away unit for the Guard back then, but everything is what you make of it.

Their lineage goes all the way back to the "2nd California" Infantry Regiment.

That would be putting it nicely.

I used to be with B Co and deployed with A Co on our last tour. 1-184 IN lost thier air assets in 06' when we returned from our first deployment so no air assault. I ETS this year but I wasnt drilling for a year before that. Our weekedn drills and 2 weeks a year were not the traditional ones with B Co. Instead of 2 day weekends we would do 3-4 day weekends and 3 weeks annual training. We were geating ready for afghanistan though so IDK about A Co. Its is what you make of it and A co has always been chill compared to B Co.

Believe me, I know it is but its where I'm from.
All my family is there so that's where I'm headed back to at least for a little while until I get stabilized again.

So I guess there's nobody? Also bumping to hopefully get more views on this. I've tried calling their number and it's not going through as well as emailing the B Co. commander. Anybody got anything?
