CHRIS COSTA is coming to Southern California (started new threads for these classes)

If you are not aware yet, Chris Costa has updated his Costa Ludus website to reflect training dates in 2013. This includes the 2 courses that FOG is hosting in January 2013 at Prado Shooting Park in Corona as follows:

Cost of each class is $665 for 3 solid days of training. Both courses sold out weeks before they began last year, so signup soon! Last year's AAR's are here: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...ighlight=costa

Please pass the word on. We are looking forward to seeing you all there like last year!

It states $665 as the cost for the Handgun "Ludus"...Ludus :rofl2:

Guess beard clippings are extra. :D

Hi Yugo, when you go to Costa's site, and click on the course descriptions, the prices are listed directly under the cpver photos. $665 for each class, 3 days per class ($222 per day).

Ask any person who has taken a Costa course to see if $665 is worth it. Or go here for an AAR thread in which multiple Costa/FOG students posted about the January 2011 classes: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...ighlight=costa

It may be easier for some to go to each relevant page where the course is fully described including topics covered, requirements, costs, full schedule for each class and signup:
CARBINE EMPLOYMENT 02 (CE 02)

HANDGUN EMPLOYMENT 02 (HE 02)

Ram, why do you always have to make so much sense? Thanks buddy, links added to the OP.

What's the class student limit?
Thx!

FALCONOPS 10-18-2012 10:57 AM

It should cap off at 20-22 per class, plus 3 instructors and some RSO's. Like last year.

Last year I was there for both CE02 and PE02. We had 24+ shooters with 2 instructors / RSO at all times and sometimes 3.

Somewhat related ... How can I sign up for the "Prep for Costa" class in December?

It's not listed on the FOG "Courses" page: http://falconops.net/products-page/courses/

Thanks in advance.

Should cap at 14 IMO

Ramzar, I don't recall 24+ students at either class, more like 18-22, but I don't want to get technical here. Ram, you are usually right, so I could be wrong, just throwing my recollecton out there...

BoBaVeX, I'll find out about the Costa Prep Course and post the info here...

The Virus, I respectfully disagree, although 14 students would be better for a local class, to get Costa to fly out to Cali and run 2 classes is expensive (airfare, hotel, food, beard grooming, ammo, etc.), plus the guy is a legend and he needs to make a profit. I didnt feel that the 18-22 shooters we had at both classes in Jan 2012 were cumbersome. Everyone had ample time with Costa one-on-one or to ask questions, etc, plus our groups of shooters were amazing (LEO, military, FOG alum), so it was nice to see a lot of dedicated shooters out there IMO.

Official word from FOG is that the 12/22 Prep for COSTA Day will be similar to prior FOG SkillBuilders, but at a higher tempo.

This basically means that you should have at least one level 1 pistol course and a level 1 rifle course before signing up online here (http://falconops.net/schedule/) or email v@falconops.net with experience questions.

Skill builders are typically 2 sessions in 1 day, AM pistol and PM carbine. I am guessing you will need about 300 rounds of each type, and maybe more to be safe.
