Oh that kind...

mlevans66 10-08-2012 7:57 PM

Fake cans are cool but I was looking for something else. :D

strokesdmb 10-08-2012 7:58 PM

Thats a sweet *** rifle

stitch_paradox 10-08-2012 8:03 PM

Operator13, where did you get that can?

MXRider 10-08-2012 8:05 PM

No, I don't like fake cans at all. What's the point?

In less than 30 days I will be back in Virginia and will be sending in my paperwork for a Surefire SOCOM RC can. :)

nice!!
i see you got it done...

MFI???

Gruber51 10-08-2012 8:14 PM

I'm not a fan, but I have a fs2000 on the way with a fake can. I'm hoping it's not to hard to take off the flash supressor and put on the mfi muzzle break. Anybody done it?

Sniper3142 10-08-2012 8:24 PM

They are about as useful as tits on a cow.

Of course... I heard some of those midwest folks really like their cows so... :(

Ruiner 10-08-2012 8:37 PM

It adds bulk and nothing else. Unless it's being used to meet the OAL, I don't like them.

AK all day 10-08-2012 8:40 PM

I would put one on my AR, but only if it slips over my current 14.5 inch barrel completely, if those exist, point me in the right direction :)

1911pistola 10-08-2012 9:05 PM

Here is my mall ninja
I like them nice and heavy:43:

tomd1584 10-08-2012 9:39 PM

Nope.

Is that a fake PEQ too?

email 10-08-2012 9:51 PM

On the right woman, yes.

On firearms, no.

NeoGeo630 10-08-2012 10:38 PM

Even tho they serve no function whatsoever, I love the fake can look especially when it slips over the barrel.

spencerk 10-08-2012 10:54 PM

Just get a bull barrel and machine it to look like a can. Thats the only way i could see a fake can as being useful. Otherwise, its just pointless and an uninformed cop might screw you for it, even with my idea... So dont even use my idea... They are just ridiculous...

noob_tube 10-09-2012 12:30 AM

Ok, I'll play along :43:

Pic taken at my cousin's place in AZ. Can't have those awful ultra-high-capacity mags here in CA :(

patriot_man 10-09-2012 12:33 AM

I'd be fine with it. That's a nice fake can on there though.

MrPlink 10-09-2012 2:58 AM

They serve a purpose for avoiding nfa violations for barrel length

Cadre 10-09-2012 3:31 PM

my wife has two and i love em :)

SB61 10-09-2012 4:37 PM

Depends what there attached to........oh never mind.

tacticalcity 10-09-2012 4:41 PM

Not a fan of them on my guns...don't mind them on my women.

Don't want the added weight for zero return. If I am going to add something to the rifle it needs to serve a real purpose.

Sunday 10-09-2012 4:50 PM

Not a fan of tacticool.

No, fake cans sucks.. in both ways.

Rider1k 11-07-2012 6:11 PM

Whats the point on a gun? Now if we are talking bewbies then heck yeah! Nothing gets the little soldier to stand at attention quicker than a nice supple set of cans!

Even if its to meet length requirements, its still cheesy in my book. Want a short barrel? Get an SBR.

If you have a fake can on your rifle you probably like spinning wheels on you car, or lime green paint jobs, and you probably play combat video games....

It might not be your thing, but combat video games are enjoyable. Not everyone playing them is a 14-year old screaming racial slurs into a headset. However it's a documented fact that spinning rims are retarded :D

I think you mean "tits on a bull." They're pretty necessary on a cow.

Veggie 11-09-2012 8:15 AM

I'd put one on a .22lr upper but not anything else. I don't think that is a fake can in OPs picture, unless I'm wrong. Looks real. I couldn't find a fake can with the qd collar online.

email 11-09-2012 9:16 AM

I like fake cans, I just wish they were quieter.

Ops rifle looks like a MK18 CQBR clone. I don't think adding a fake can is dumb if it's for clone purposes. However, I wouldn't want one permanently attached to any rifle of mine.

If CA ever allows us to own suppressors, I'd definitely want a few real ones.

Dynamic 11-09-2012 9:38 AM

I only like fake cans if they add length to the meet the law, or to cover a longer " pencil " barrel , like on the UZI / MP5 and other carbines that have a 16'' barrel.

victorr 11-09-2012 3:13 PM

How about a barrel shroud? What's the consensus on those? I have a Sig 556 Classic Patrol with shorter Swiss hand guards. The 16" barrel protrudes quite extensively out and looks pencil thin.

pv107 11-10-2012 7:17 AM

Cans look great on a rifle! And I like fake cans only because real ones aren't allowed in CA. But then again, to each his own.

glockwise2000 11-10-2012 7:19 AM

Don't own one.:(
