Costa PredatOBR

Any updates on getting these in? Just curious as people on the larue forum are already getting shipping label notices. Also, how long is the wait list?

urbantactics 07-26-2012 9:07 PM

Larue is taking orders directly from their site. They've only released 125 of 500 and I believe they're all sold out.

LaRue seems to have changed their position on this rifle and may not be offering dealer sales. This is very disappointing to say the least. In light of their policy where individuals from California can ONLY purchase a LaRue rifle through one of their authorized California dealers, this is especially disappointing. We are working with one of the directors of the company in an attempt to get them to address this side-effect of their decision to only sell the rifles online. We were the very first dealer to give LaRue a purchase order for these rifles at SHOT Show and every indication, up until a couple days ago, was that they were eventually going to fill our order. We are hoping that they will ship some of the next production run to us so that we can sell them to customers on our waiting list, but we just don't know at this point.

How about a regular (non-beardy) PredatOBR 14.5" with welded flash hider? Are you guys going to be able to get your hands on those? I see them up on the site, but I keep seeing a "Server Error" when I click on it (not sure if my problem or not).

shark92651 07-27-2012 4:10 PM

All indications are that the PredatOBR will be just fine, it's just that they haven't even shipped any yet. The Costa rifle is the first PredatOBR to ship, but they are treating it differently since it is a special model. At least that is how I interpret the information I am receiving so far.

that sucks. thanks for the update. Might have to just swap my name over to the regular predatobr list. Wanted a fde rifle more than the name and CL logo.

You guys going to add Cerakote to your "gunsmithing" section? I know I'd be down for it on a normal PredatOBR...

joe_j 08-16-2012 11:07 PM

We still haven't received any information on if they are planning on offering these rifles through their dealers in future production runs. It's not looking good...

Hey brucoop,

No word on standard PredatOBRs yet, but there is a waiting list for both calibers.
If you would like to be added to the waiting list be sure to stop by or call (949) 209-6413 with your full name and phone number.
No deposits are required/accepted for waiting list items.

Thanks!

-Team RG

I was thinking of getting one in a year or so.

hiyabrad 11-04-2012 12:09 PM

Started new PredatOBR thread. My question is not a COSTA issue.

FUBAR562 12-01-2012 7:43 AM

Any updates on if LaRue changed their position on sending you guys Costa rifles?

BigfootHunter 12-06-2012 12:03 AM

Not sure if you ever looked into this further, but you should probably call RG.

Situation awareness is one thing, but index the guy you just smoke checked to see if he's dead first. Then have a look around. Retard. He's a great trick shooter but doesn't hack it in real world. I have some Larues. But they are no better than my Daniel defense or LMTs. Get a gun a run it. If you hitting a paper plate. Engaging muliple targets. Practicing transitions and failures. Keep it up. You are training to kill bad guys. Take a carbine course with guys that punch lights for a living. I do. They don't have costa's. they have colts and USGI mags. And Aimpoint comp2s.

too funny!!!

I know this guy, he's a former DEA agent - Remember his famous quote:

"This is a Glock 40, I'm the only one in this room professional enough that I know I can carry a Glock 40"

I ran with SF after several deployments, never claimed to know everything, but get shot at then holler at me, and tell me who you see in your squad whipping their heads around like costa and how many are ****ting their pants, reality.

Feel free to go crap in someone else's thread, but not in my forum. Thanks.

hiyabrad 02-05-2013 2:18 PM

BTW, I LOVE MY COSTA. LOVE IT! I ALSO LOVE THE SAME OPTICS THAT THE GUYS WHO KILLED OBL USED...OLIVER...LOL
