'UPDATED' SSE (Single Shot Exempt) Handguns

Hello Everyone,

We are constantly asked if we will convert non roster handguns into a SSE (Single Shot Exempt).

EDITED 5/30/2012: We are currently working on stocking off roster Single Shot Exempt handguns (Glock Gen 4, 1911's, XDM's)

In the meantime, we will be happy to transfer in an off roster Single Shot Exempt handgun that meets the requirements of a CA approved SSE handgun.

Please contact us for more information and the steps required to legally transfer in a SSE handgun through Addax Tactical.

Thank you,
Addax Tactical

Update 5/22/2012:

We are currently working on getting the necessary parts to provide SSE conversions for off roster Glock Gen 4's and certain off roster 1911's.

The Glock Gen 4 and off roster 1911's will be set up as Single Shot Exempt handguns with the proper extended length barrel, mag release locked or converted and a sled that will not hold any rounds.

Once we start selling SSE handguns, these can only be purchased and picked up at our store, we will not transfer these to another dealer.

We will update this thread, and our website with availability and pricing once we have all the necessary conversion parts in stock.

SSE Transfers from another FFL:

In the meantime, please email us if you want to transfer in an already converted SSE off roster handgun from another ffl dealer.

SSE handgun transfers from an FFL cost $75.00 plus we have to collect sales tax on the purchase price of the handgun per the CA BOE.

We will only accept SSE transfers from another FFL who performed the conversion.

Thank you,
Addax Tactical

Awesome! Can't wait to have an SSE-capable dealer in the SFV area! Do you have a rough idea of timeline/price when the glocks will be available? I was going to pick up a 17 or 34 soon, but if you guys will have them I can wait a bit. I can also email or call if that would be easier.

May I request that you guys also do CZs in the future? No FFLs here in SoCal that I'm aware of do SSE for CZs, and they have been very popular lately.

We are working on getting the single shot exemption parts ready for the off roster Glock Gen 4's, and 1911's we will be bringing in.

Just hang tight, and we will make an announcement soon.

Thanks,
AT

Which model CZ's?

We will add this to our customers SSE's wish list, and as soon as we are able to process off roster CZ's into SSE's we will announce it.

Thanks,
AT

We will see what we can do in the coming months.

Right now, we are focusing on Glock Gen4's, Springfield XDM's, and 1911's.

Thanks,

Great to hear that you do SSEs now. I was wondering if you would accept converted SSE pistols OOS?

Richieboy 06-24-2012 6:58 PM

Just sent you guys an email about the XD-S.

::fingers crossed::

Email received.

We will get back to you this week on your request.

Still waiting for some key parts to arrive, but we should be ready soon with Glock SSE's and hopefully Springfield SSE's.

Thanks,
AT

Yes, we already do.

Just as long as the SSE conversion is done correctly, and the SSE is coming from the FFL who performed the conversion.

We ask that anyone who wants a SSE transferred in from out of state (via a FFL) contact us first via email for details and to coordinate such a transfers.

Again, we will only accept SSE transfers from another FFL who actually did the SSE conversion.

Transfer fee is $65.00 plus DROS, and we do have to collect sales tax per the CA BOE (ridiculous tax code!)

Thanks,
AT

Kindly let me know if SSE CZ75-Shadow is already available. If I may respectfully suggest I think you guys should concentrate on firearms that most member here like to get thier hands on rather than Gen 4 Glock variants. About 95% of members here aleady have at least one glock to many so the excitement is not that great anymore. I for one have gen 1;2;3 variants.

Thank you for the suggestion.

We are always open to good suggestions and ideas.

The issue is that we have to make or put together specific SSE conversion kits for different handgun models.

We have gauged what we are going to be offering in SSE's currently based on customer input that we have received here at the shop, and from emails-phone calls asking for specific SSE's.

We have received many requests for Glock Gen 4 SSE's, XDM SSE's, PPQ SSE's, 1911 SSE's.

We have only received 3 requests for CZ's.

That is not to say we won't offer a CZ SSE down the road, but it takes time and costs $$ to put together SSE kits, so we want to concentrate on what many of our customers as asking for first.

Thanks,
AT

Yes.

We would need to install the Bullet Button and a Sled Magazine to make it Single Shot Compliant.

Please contact us at sales@addaxtactical for details.

If I may make a suggestion, you start doing SSE's on Magnum Research's Desert Eagle: Mark XIX in .50AE, I do believe that the Mark XIX is able to easily convert from .44 magnum to .50AE and vice versa. Just my $0.02 :reddevil:

After December.

We are temporarily ceasing SSE's until we get new documentation from BATF in the next month.

Addax 10-14-2012 1:26 PM

Update:

We are temporarily not processing any SSE orders until the end of this year.

There are several reasons for this decision.

1) We are working on getting some additional paperwork from BATF regarding SSE's

2) We are working on obtaining or making additional barrels and sled mags for different model SSE's

We hope to resume SSE's by December.

We will update everyone again very soon.

Thank you,
AT

Please work on getting a barrel for HK P30L. As soon as you guys are back up with SSE and have that HK available I'll be walking back in your shop. Thanks Addax. You guys are a great team.
