Hi Penny's Dad
Is there a place to find out what a volunteer/coordinator's job duties will be?
Thanks!

Nothing like a complete stranger, who I have never ever interacted with, wanting to come to an event solely because I am there. I don't know if I should be flattered, or scared for my life!!!
Andrew

Excellent, I am looking forward to seeing you

CHS 05-30-2011 8:55 PM

Just got your PM. Don't worry, still planning on being there.

If there's space on the table, I can bring a 1919 on tripod. Otherwise, I'll definitely bring an AR for show and tell and AW law explanations.

santamonica9 05-31-2011 9:35 AM

in for SAT - ill bring my Saiga 308 :D

CHS 06-02-2011 3:20 PM

Some last minute things fell into my lap last night and I'll have to leave early (2pm) on Saturday.

I'm still on for tomorrow, and MOST of my Saturday shift.

pennys dad 06-02-2011 3:49 PM

cool

Hey guys I don't mean to hijack this thread but I'm not sure if my question warrants a whole new thread in itself.

I just found out about this gun show and I am in the market to purchase my first gun. I see in the emails I received and everything that this is a "hands-on," "see it, shoot it, buy it" show. Does this mean that lots of guns will be on display for at discounted prices and I would be able to make a purchase on the spot? Also whats the deal with the live fire part of the show? Do you just pay the $12 admissions fee to get in and be able to test fire various guns I may be interested in buying?

Thanks,
Brandon

Great question and in no way a hijack.
"hands-on," "see it, shoot it, buy it" meas what it means, 2 dozen vendors like Ruger, Taurus, S&W and so on will be there. They charge for the bullets, so you get in line, point out what you want to shoot, pay a few bucks for bullets and step up to the line to shoot. All vendors with firearms to shoot have a spot on the firing line.

ThemBastards 06-03-2011 9:38 AM

So excited, I just got the afternoon off to make it out.

Zeropointeffect 06-04-2011 8:20 PM

I got to go today to the sports fair and just wanted to say how awesome the volunteers at the booth were. Great face to put to the public and awesome toys to drool over. I saw a few new shooters and directed them that way, :D keep up the good work!

P.S. Hope its okay to post this here.

Speedpower 06-04-2011 9:20 PM

ontargetrange 06-04-2011 10:58 PM

We talked to a lot of old CGN members and many new ones too. Our booth had firearms you could pick up and handle without waiting. It was a big hit.

CHS's wife's rhinestone covered AR was probably the most popular, very closely followed by an M1 Garand. Everybody wanted to handle the M1. At one point I spent more time talking about the CMP than CGN...;)

WDE91 06-05-2011 3:58 PM

I stopped by the booth today
It was a very nice setup

I got one of the case tags and calguns sticker

O ya
Hey Chad

Curtis 06-06-2011 10:43 AM

I stopped by on Friday. There were lots of people for a Friday. I talked with CHS and my boys wanted his wife's AR for mom. I picked up a shirt and three hat pins.

It was good to meet face to face.

Thank you to everyone at the booth.

I remember meeting you and the boys, and looking for the blue pins for you...thanks for stopping by!
