Rescheduling the April 3rd shoot

Rescheduling the April 3rd shoot

Good Morning Everyone

Regarding the April 3rd shoot at Lytle Creek; we will be moving and rescheduling the event. I have some logistics I need to work through before I provide more information, but the Lytle Creek April 3rd shoot will be moved and rescheduled.
I also want to add a note regarding Lytle Creek Shooting Range, In the past our events at the Lytle Creek shooting range have been successful and I attribute a large portion of the success to the friendliness and open hearted acceptance of the Calguns community by the Lytle Creek staff. Lytle Creek wants Calguns shooters on its range and goes out of its way to accommodate our shooters and bbqs and parking needs, check-in needs, Line RSO needs and so on. It is not easy to host 100+ shooters with new shooters, kids, food, parking and so on but Lytle Creek handles it well and Calgunners have a good safe time.
It is unfortunate the irresponsible action of an Authoritative Organization has forced us to make this decision but it is necessary for the short term. This is NOT a boycott of Lytle Creek or any other negative action, In fact it is the opposite CGF has been notified and the 2a troops rallied I hope these efforts help to resolve this issue and wrap up this mess quickly so we can get back there and have a BBQ!
Calguns, Thank You for your concern and patience while we work through this

Best Regards
Jacob

I should be able to go. Any one in OC want to carpool maybe? And how does Long Range Poker work?

1forall 02-25-2011 9:21 PM

I should be able to make it. I haven't shot since the Burro Canyon Turkey Shoot.

Bhobbs 02-27-2011 2:00 PM

Hopefully I can make it. I go to Lytle Creek all the time.

OK, so, with only a month away, its time to start getting the list together for our potluck.

Remember, this is a potluck event so please understand that when bringing your item, keep in mind everyone will be sharing and the amount of food should at least be the amount to cover at least your party if not more.

What we need most will be entrees and sides. I know a lot of us are prone to pick up a bag of chips or box of cookies on our way to the shoot and while your intentions are appreciated, we tend to always end up with bags and bags of chips and tons of cookies at the end of it all. These snack and dessert items are still welcome as your contribution, but should be limited. Utensils are also of dire importance. We ended up with plenty of food but no plates, or utensils at our Burro Canyon night shoot.

Also, if you are contributing hot dogs or burgers, thats awesome. Its a good way to feed a lot of people for a low cost but please, remember, when contributing food think of it as if what your bringing is the only food there will be. What I mean is that when you bring items such as burgers and/or hot dogs, please, make sure to bring the condiments and bread along with it. Again, we have had situations in the past where calgunners with good intentions forget that stuff and we have packages of hot dogs left over because there were no buns or condiments to use.

With this being said, lets start getting this together. I myself will be contributing Burgers along with buns and condiments to feed at least 10 people. Please start submitting your item in this tread or PM me. I will start putting the list in order and post on the thread as soon as I start getting everyones items in. Lets try and have different foods everyone (we always do a good job of that anyway). If in a week or so I see we still are in need of items (like utensils) I will add a post asking for someone to bring those along. Thanks again everyone and lets kick of this year with an AWESOME Shoot & Q!

Please reply in this thread and look for updates here as well. Thank you.

Who will be coming out?

Gunfighter420 03-14-2011 8:17 PM

Probably be a cool idea if you guys don't do it already. How about wear your Calguns name on a label and stick it on your shirt. We see all the Calguns names on here but not a clue who you are in person. Like I said, just an idea if you guys don't do it already because this will be my first Calguns function I'll be attending.

I haven't been to LCFL for a few months, but as long as it is in legal configuration, they shouldn't have an issue.
IE: mag lock, 10 rd magazine.
Have fun!

dunc289 03-19-2011 6:41 PM

Probably a stupid question, but........

Is this long guns only, or can I turn up with my 45?

Thanks

dunc

dieselpower 03-22-2011 4:56 PM

There are a couple open threads about Lytle Creek BANNING large capacity magazines...someone may want to look into that. Several members have been asked to LEAVE the range or not use any magazine over 10rds.

I dont know if they want to inspect you for RAW paperwork, or if they are now only letting BB EBRs shoot,... but if you have a featureless NON-RAW.. you better call first.

http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=410615 this is the latest thread by a person who was asked to leave when they tried to use a featureless rifle and a 30rd magazine...

any by featureless non-RAW I mean M1A...Mini-14... not just MMG on a EBR.

a308garand 03-23-2011 9:56 AM

I would like to see how this pans out. If Lytle Creek doesn't want my business, even though I am following the laws of this state, then I will take my shooting business elsewhere.

I have not had trouble with any folks running the range there, but it seems like it will happen eventually.

pennys dad 03-23-2011 11:40 AM

Heys Guys, If you want to discuss what Lytle Creek will and wont do please open another thread. Thank you.

Which Way Out 03-23-2011 11:58 AM

I am sorry I won't be there, sounds like a lot of fun.
Here's a tip, To do hot food for a lot of people we use to tell everyone to bring a can of Chile. Any kind, make whatever. Toss em all in a big pot, cut up some hot dogs and toss em with the Chile and wam you have Chile ala hot dog. Some bowls and spoons your all set. Add cheese and onions even better. The way the weather has been these days I might just make some up this afternoon. Of course someone will need to supply the dogs. And don't forget the paper towels
Have fun and a great time shooting

George W 03-23-2011 9:16 PM

This is a very viable question that needs to be asked ahead of time

Yes it should be asked, in it's own thread.

Kestryll

Is there anyway OP to maybe make a list of what everyone is bringing so we all don`t bring the same thing. I`m not sure what to bring.

protoolsnerd 03-30-2011 1:35 PM

PsychGuy274 03-30-2011 2:33 PM

I was bummed that I was going to miss this event due to another event that there was no way out of. But I am most definitely in for what ever date is rescheduled.
