I spoke with woody, another build party host, and he as well is looking to have a build party. It would be held around 2 weeks after mine. He is located in Santa Rosa. This will help those of you in that area, cannot make the date of mine, or if you just have more to build! Details should be up shortly or posted on the thread by woody himself. I just ask that if you have specific questions pertaining to build needs in Santa Rosa to please contact him rather than redirect the intentions of this orig. post. Thanks- Alex

From Woody:

Back to back build partys. I'd like to host an AK build party in Santa Rosa. I talk with Alex and am planning on host 1 or 2 weeks afters his BP. I was thinking this would give two location to choose from & or a place to finish up work if you didn't complete your build. As of today the 13,14,27 &28 are open dates for me. I will pick a date based on when and after Alex is having his.
Thanks Woodey

I shall be ready to throw it on the grill :)

tngay510 01-26-2010 9:13 AM

so ready for this build!

JamesY 01-26-2010 9:47 AM

North vs South BPs? Hmmmmmmmm.
I might be able to go. Mostly to eat and help, especially since the south is challenging us. Need details of your challenge, 69Mach1. What's at stake? :)

jammer2k 01-26-2010 11:35 AM

Interested but can't afford it currently. Once I can afford a nice 74 underfold kit of some flavor I will attend the next one.

BTW what is the going rate on a 74 underfolding kit?

EDIT: OK side a side or under, either is good for me at this point.....

oldyeller 01-26-2010 11:53 AM

Here is the only one I know of currently

http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/storeproduct846.aspx

JamesY 01-26-2010 1:36 PM

For a side-folding 74 (Romy, Polish, Bulgy, etc.), expect to pay from $280-$450.

Alexthewelder 01-26-2010 1:56 PM

Anyone got a amd65 for 250? I'll take it. Found one for 270 shipped but I don't wanna wait either.

Building a pistol? If not I have an extra Hungarian SA-85M kit if you're interested.

Alexthewelder 01-26-2010 6:07 PM

how'd you know?! lol yah Ive been pretty interested in doing one but im just wondering if im gonna like it or is it in reality just another toy...

whats the deal on the kit your talking about?.... we'll finish this via pm :)

fermi 01-26-2010 8:19 PM

Im in, the last one at duraglock's was a blast.

I cant wait!

Any date on Saturday is fine for me.

If anyone is doing a pistol build on an AMD-65 and does not want the stock/trunion PM me. I might be interested in doing buisness!

dancinzen 01-27-2010 3:00 PM

Can anyone join this? I would love to attend. I know nothing of this process and what parts I would need or what tools I could bring to contribute. But if I could I will attend... Please let me know... Thank you.

Alexthewelder 01-27-2010 3:12 PM

By all means join in. However, I am holding space priority to those that will be building. Best bet is to buy an ak parts kit(do a little research first), your receiver flat and compliance parts(from duraglock), and the rest is here.

Thrasher416 01-27-2010 9:23 PM

Count me in. Need to finish the build I started at Duraglock's party. I'd definitely prefer mid March.

How much is the building fee going to be?

tngay510 01-27-2010 9:27 PM

i am bringing a friend with me that isnt on calguns. he is looking forward to finish up his project too

Alexthewelder 01-27-2010 9:33 PM

Ive discussed the fees with woody, who is going to be hosting a bp a week or two after mine , and I'm pretty sure the fees will be 30 for builders 12 for spectators(accompanied with a builder) this includes food and drink. the price will be the same at either event.

Tn- you should get your friend to sign up!

tngay510 01-27-2010 9:36 PM

he is on, just dont post or anything. just to check out the marketplace.

Alexthewelder 01-27-2010 9:40 PM

oh ok cool:)

also, I will most likely be doing a raffle again.got to think of some new cool things to raffle off. The tri tip sandwiches were such a hit last time i dont want to vear from that but ill see if anything else jumps out at me!

lokote 01-28-2010 6:26 AM

would i pay you the fee at the build party or before it?

before hand to reserve your spot

Post 88 01-28-2010 7:49 AM

This time I will come. I need to press out the barrel pin and the barrel. Hopefully somebody can weld the rails for me. I prefer a spot in the morning.

Not sure if I can make it, as the wife has plan to drag me to Egypt to see a bunch of tombs in March:(
