EDC Knives - What Do You Have???

Whats your EDC knife you carry everyday? Just started carry a knife with me everyday. Its a Benchmade Griptilian. Any other recommendations, and could the company I work for ask me to stop carrying it? Its a fairly conservitive company.

GrimReaper 06-28-2017 6:39 AM

I EDC a Benchmade Barrage I made on the custom knife configurator.

I've said many-a-time in this forum that I'm a sucker for value-grade folders so presently my EDC is a OKC RAT3. Laser sharp out of the box and decently smooth action for under 30 bucks is hard to beat. My only complaint is I got the black coated blade and the coating comes off super easy. Broke down a few boxes the other day and it when I was done the coating was totaled.

Previous in the rotation has been the H&K by Benchmade UNSUB, CRKT M16 drop point with a plain edge (ended up ditching it because of the stupid safety), and the Kershaw Clash.

CRKT M16-13T

I have a couple, Spyderco, Kershaw, Benchmade, but currently carrying a Titanium CRKT M16-13T which I am very happy with. I also work at small company and my Spyderco made someone nervous in their safe space so I went to the smaller 13T which looks a little less intimidating but keeps a great edge.

I'm sadistic so I love the dual lock (I've used it for many years now and am adept at closing it one handed.) I get a real kick out of giving it to people to use and watching them try to close the thing. 9/10 fail and hand it back open :)

kershaw shuffle 2. cheap enough to use and lose without taking a hit.
with a built in bottle opener and flat head screw driver, you can't lose.

Was a Cold Steel Talwar serrated until last week. Got a Spydie Native lightweight now, but not sure how well I like it yet. Razor sharp, but seems fragile.

Today it's a cheapy Winchester stockman. Tomorrow it might be a Swiss Army Classic, maybe an Opinel, maybe a Paramilitary.

Rotate between Spyderco Delica, Endura, Kershaw Leek. Sometimes Spyderco Military or Manix 2 XL.

Rediscovered this one I thought lost many years ago. Found it wedged under drivers seat bracket on my truck. Along with some well preserved fries.😜

Might want to check yours before selling off a vehicle. Also found couple bucks in change.

Light and simple, but with a subtle touch of Damascus ...

I've been carrying a big CRKT Hammond Cruiser for the past 10 years or so. Just bought a CRKT M21-04G last night after a lot of research -- hope it works out well for me (abt $40, small birthday present to myself, turn 41 in a couple weeks)

SAK, other than needing sharpening a little more often I use it the most. Especially scissors and the screw driver.

ChuckDizzle 07-01-2017 3:50 PM

I carry a skeletonized Gerber folder, it's cheap and I see them at Wal Mart and OSH, nothing to write home about.

Recently I picked up an HK "unsub" 14143, it is a heck of a knife for $20. Assisted opening, steel liners, titanium coated Chinese AUS8 steel, G10 scales. I guess Benchmade just discontinued them at the start of the year.

And randomly decided to upgrade to this about a month ago:

Today was a Benchmade Volli. I keep a Tenacious in the garage for boxes and such.

OP why would your company tell you to not EDC? Do they have a written policy?

I don't have one I carry every day. I have five folders to choose from based on the situation and dress.

Leatherman Wingman multitool
Gerber Paraframe
Opinel No. 6 Luxe
HK Unsub
Benchmade mini Grip

Wade65 07-27-2017 12:42 PM

Benchmade Mel Pardue 855. Been my edc for about 15 years. Have a couple ZT and cold steel stuff but I have this one every day.

blkrado28 07-28-2017 12:27 PM

Usually carry my ZT 0450, or 0460 during the week. On the weekends I carry my 0452. They are so easy to carry and I sometimes don't even remember that I have them on me.

Daze 07-28-2017 12:38 PM

CRKT M16-13T

I have pocketed a couple of CRKT's in the past and currently am using the 13T which I like quite a bit.

https://www.crkt.com/m16-13t-titaniu...errations.html

It is also a little IQ challenge for those that I give it to use ( can they figure out how to close my knife? ) 9-10 hand it back with a frustrated look on their face, especially when I close it one handed without looking and stash it back in my pocket.

It's the little things that make us laugh, and get us through the day sometimes :)
