Im uploading 2 videos I just shot with a MQX quad with a tiny 720p camera, im trying some different mountings cause im getting shake in the video.

Yugo 09-26-2012 11:13 AM

Ok here is test flight 1 just remember this is a TINY quad and a little wind moves it a lot so please dont judge my flying :D

Yugo 09-26-2012 11:18 AM

here is test 2

Yugo 09-26-2012 12:15 PM

Here is number 3 I think it is because I dont have a CMOS sensor is the reason why it is shaky.

BlackTydeTactical 09-26-2012 1:14 PM

You can view area while it's in flight? What is the distance it can go?

Yugo 09-26-2012 4:11 PM

Further than you can see. 400-500 feet. The big one I'm building will be autonomous with GPS and will not need a remote.

Yugo 09-26-2012 4:12 PM

Yes the bigger one will have a transmitted video signal to some video goggles.

My cousin has been into R/C cars for a good number of years now. He races and works at an R/C track somewhere in Orange County. I never got into it and good thing because firearms are enough of a money pit :)

valkylrie 09-26-2012 5:06 PM

Always wanted to really get into flying RC's but never made it happen.......I guess a trip to the hobby shop is in order...........dang it there go a few hundred dollars to open the hole

You've brought up another of my hobbies.. I'm a long-time RC'er - 35+ years and am very involved in the helicopter side of things. I also do airplanes, just not too much anymore.

If you're interested, there's a large helicopter Fun-fly happening next week, Oct4-7 about an hour or so South of you in Fallbrook. PM me if you want some more info, or have questions about your trip to the hobby shop. :)

For now, here's a pic of my favorite RC "toy" - Bergen Intrepid Turbine

Here is a few of my FPV "first person video's". All the vehicles in the video's were flown/driven via video goggles or lcd screen.

Sounds good, I will send you a PM.

Javi 09-26-2012 10:23 PM

How much would a pretty good helicopter cost? I'm guessing they're a few hundred and would HATE to crash the thing or fly it out of range and it crashes in someone's backyard 4 blocks away. My cousin n' I bought some rocket at Micheal's and those things are pretty awesome :D Although not r/c, of course.

hundreds......try thousands, the cheap ones suck and will crash. I crashed my first heli a few times and spent around $1000 just fixing it.

Javi 09-26-2012 11:02 PM

Fuhhh..This isn't for me then haha.

first and foremost if you want to fly ANYTHING buy this first the remote:

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...Firmware_.html

perfect starter remote and you can use this with your future heli/plane if you decide to get one, it is a GREAT price and comes with a receiver cant go wrong for a 9 channel remote.

you can go only up from there.

then buy this:

http://www.dealextreme.com/p/usb-2-0...r-dongle-51480

phoenix flight is the best simulator and if you get this one you can even update it with no problems. Or you can spend $200 and buy a legit version.

The EasyStar is using a ReadyMadeRC P&T.

valkylrie 09-28-2012 3:56 PM

I love it! Been trying to find time to learn heli's for years. Frustration is the name of my game, I have real flight something or other, and while I try it, I seem to lose reference if I do anything other than hover and quit, then I have to learn to hover all over again. It has been frustrating, with out a sim it seems to be out of my budget.

I hate expensive Hobbies, but I hate cheap ones more....

Here is a video

Yugo 09-29-2012 9:25 AM

About a year ago my brother told me he traded some guns for some RC cars, I considered getting him commited. Then I visited him and he let me beat up some of his RC cars. I bought a Traxxas Slash 4x4 about a week and a half ago, I keep beating the holy crap out of it and it keeps going. (I've had to replace a few cheap parts) Will be buying a RTF Hi Tec Sky Scout (the new iteration of Easy Star RTF) in the next month.

As i said above, if you have never flown anything before spend your money on a simulator first...links above.

Here's a fun video of the quadrocopter that I built. I eventually want to get it to fly by itself, but I'm still working on the electronics.

This was a Replay XD.

To reduce shaking, you have to balance all of the blades front/back and side/side. It's not easy with multiple small blades but makes a big difference.

Also you can mount the camera using the very rubbery double-sided tape Heli's use for the Gyro.

Here's my MQX with an R/C Grappling Hook.

I had crashed it couple weeks ago and just finished rebuilding it last night. Now I need to buy a new go pro and make more videos. I have also ordered a POV camera so I can actually move around and not just hover.

Nice fellow HobbyKing'er

I just got my micro quad.
Test flew it for about 5 mins pretty cool.
it has the KK board and I set it to self level.

Are you familiar with that board?

Yugo 03-14-2013 9:35 PM

I have seen the boards but have not played with it. Sounds cool though...that quad broke yesturday so I cut the arms down and started rebuilding it I will post some pics when im done.

I have a few helicopters... Trex 450, Shogun 400, Blade 3D, and a few other small electrics. I had a Hirobo .30 size heli but its too loud and inconvenient to find a place to fly it.

Also have a .40 size trainer plane just hanging in my shed out back...

Yugo 05-21-2013 5:48 PM

I finally pulled the trigger and bought one of these and FPV system with 1.3GHz video system and full autonomous computer that has GPS and works off google maps.

I will post pics/video when everything arrives.

Yugo 05-26-2013 5:58 PM

A small taste of whats to come. Brushless motors are on their way and so is the control board. Stay tuned.

Yup, I got one of those, I started the 3d printing because of it. I need a custom part for the back servos cause wood wasnt doing it. After buying it I have read nothing but bad reviews on this model.

It still hangs waiting to be assembled.
