There are many ways to take advantage of small storage areas. Here's a place to share your ideas.

I use kool-aid containers to store my GHB iteams in my work backpack. This way I only need one backpack. I keep three containers.

First aid.
Quick clot.
Sutures.
Ace bandage
Moleskin
Tape.
Assortment of Meds.
Band aids.

Food/water
Cliff bars
Water filtration
Gatorade
Sol medic pack

Misc
1 person Bivy
Lighter
Safety pins
Ziplock bags
Legal tender
Batteries
