No, Auto Mall Durham is in Fremont, Alameda County doesn't carry any. Milpitas Wal-Mart is off McCarthy Ranch.

ARJ29 03-05-2012 11:37 AM

Thanks....I know there are a few Wal-Mart stores in the area

wildiddy 03-05-2012 11:38 AM

did u see any .40 federal 100 packs?

Valegian 03-05-2012 12:00 PM

No federal 100 value packs...

wildiddy 03-05-2012 12:43 PM

:( I talked to the cashier this weekend and he said he hasn't seen federal value packs in stock for over 2 weeks. I wonder when they will get some more.

plenty of wwb 40's&9's at stkn walmrt. No 45's at all. That badboy is sure hard to come by even though it's more $$$ than 9/40....huh, I wonder why?.....................

.45JHP 03-05-2012 2:05 PM

I used to post something in the original Wally World thread every time I saw ammo. Lately I haven't been doing this. I've noticed that the past few months ammo has been really plentiful as far as what's in stock...WWB .45 and bulk packs included- which is a change from about a year ago when everything was rarely in stock.

Freq18Hz 03-05-2012 2:08 PM

The prices aren't that great IMHO. Might as well buy online.

ChaneRZ 03-05-2012 2:25 PM

Any American Eagle 223?

Valegian 03-06-2012 11:45 AM

Wow! .45 is back in stock! Been almost 3 weeks since it's been out. Federal 50-pack just in case you were wondering.

a.spl 03-06-2012 12:23 PM

keep in mind most ammo prices at walmart also went up a dollar a box

ns3v3n 03-06-2012 12:33 PM

Best to call in advance and ask for the sporting department, then you can check before you drive in, I used to do that when I used to buy ammo.

Mana4real 03-06-2012 12:39 PM

My co-worker was there on Saturday looking for ammo for me. He picked me up some 12 gauge, but they didn't have any 9mm.

teflondog 03-06-2012 1:39 PM

I bought a few boxes of their Federal .45 and noticed that they use small pistol primers. Just a heads up for anybody else who reloads.

Rob Roy 03-06-2012 1:57 PM

How much is the box of 50 of Federal 45?

Caseless 03-06-2012 3:06 PM

I think it's about time for my annual Walmart trip.
What's the price on 12GA Federal #7 1/2 and #8 Game Shot 1290FPS birdshot?

Not sure.. I wasn't looking at the shotgun stuff since it seems that they always have some kind of 12Ga variation on the shelfs. If I had the time I would have taken some notes. :D

Caseless 03-06-2012 3:30 PM

NP. You are right birdshot is always there, except my Saiga 12 prefers certain loads for 100% functioning.

I believe it was $22.97 for the 100 pack. I just got two packs of the federal 7-1/2

Valegian 03-07-2012 10:38 AM

.223 AE is in stock! Ain't gonna last.

onegtalon 03-07-2012 3:04 PM

I went back for more .45 today and saw a Federal 9mm/.40 safety notice at the register? I tried to look for it on the Federal site but didn't see anything. (wrong cal ammo in the boxes) so check your ammo!

ouch...

methinks federal will be buying some used guns...

Valegian 03-24-2012 9:32 AM

It was nice to walk in this morning and be able to pick up .45 Winchester 100-packs at $36.97. It's been a while since they had any .45 in.

terdog 03-24-2012 12:12 PM

The Placerville WALLYWORLD has had a sign for the last month that the Federal was re-called.

VL221 03-24-2012 12:27 PM

I didn't know that Milpitas Walmart sells ammo. I went to the one on Mccarthy and they said they don't sell ammo. I tried looking at the sporting section and there was nothing..

blap59 03-24-2012 12:43 PM

McCarthy Ranch does. At least as of last Monday.

marathonman 03-24-2012 7:38 PM

Having to actually go into milpitas Walmart is why I started reloading.

jpm804 03-24-2012 7:42 PM

Just was there today to get some other things... anyone looking for 9mm, they are out.

Reynold 03-25-2012 9:07 AM

Can someone explain to me why one would buy ammo in brick and mortar stores in small quantities? Prices are usually higher than online, you have to pay tax, the selection is more limited. Why not buy in bulk online?

Some vendors will not ship to certain cities of a state, in my case the City of Sacramento.

The City of Sacramento has a local ordinance that requires all ammunition dealers to keep a log of purchases, with the buyer's name, address, and thumbprint; and the ammo is behind the counter (think pharmacy.) Yes, this denies criminals from making a anonymous purchase; but it does force criminals to go out of the City to buy ammo. One of the unattended consequences of this is that many out of state vendors believe that they must comply with this local ordinance (according to CGF and Hoffmang with a response from the city http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/archive/index.php/t-246494.html , they do NOT) and in effect they don't sell at all to residents of the City of Sacramento. Some take it even further and deny the entire county.
