Appleseed! Post pics of your LTR's here!

Hey All,

My Dad & I are gearing up for Appleseed in June. He just bought a Marlin 795 LTR (to which I added some nice stuff), and I just finished my KIDD 10/22 build. Both are GTG:)

Hello OP,
Nice aftermarket stock on that Marlin! I see your Ruger has a red dot scope. Appleseed teaches marksmanship of 4MOA or less. I'm not familiar with all Bushnell scopes but some lower end red dot products just are not consistent/reliable/stable mounted enough.
Just FYI so you can determine on your own as you get ready for a great weekend.
Cheers

Sight alignment for red dots and holosights: Turkey neck (full extend your neck) them move your head around until the image is at maximum brightness, then you are in the optical center, which is a repeatable position. Then turn down the illumination to the dimmest you can see reliably, this reduces the 'bloom' that can obscure 4 MOA targets.

That red dot mount is about the equivalent of a low-ring scope. You may be able to get an OK cheek weld with proper sight alignment, or you may need to do a bit of build-up on the stock to get one - it depends on your own head's dimensions.

I like that stock on the Marlin!

I have a pair of 10/22 LTRs that I love. I'll be bringing them to my second 'seed in October, if all goes to plan. :) (My wife uses one, and I use the other)

I love that stock of yours, though. I wonder if I can find something similar (and reasonably-priced) to upgrade mine...

I've heard that Ruger's LTR doesn't have an auto bolt release... is this true?

Its my first 10/22 build....I made Rifleman with a WW2 bolt action Mossberg. For fun I tried again with this one...shot a 231 with no sling. I ain't putting sling mounts on this rifle!!
