Somethings Have to be Shared

Right after a facepalm for "WTH didn't I ever think of that".
Snap caps are expensive, and they always get lost, and you don't want to store your .22 cocked.
Solution, number #4, dry wall anchors. About $4 per 100.

Yep, been using them for years. I keep a pack in my range bag.

Calico1404 04-18-2018 3:02 PM

Brilliant

Awesome Tip! Thanks OP!

brownfeathermedic 04-18-2018 3:03 PM

Thanks , I'll start using those.

Hey Trap - itís good to know an oó dog can still learn new tricks. :D Gives me hope.

They work well even if their edges deform easier than a snap cap. But for the price in bulk, who cares?

steelholder 04-19-2018 4:38 PM

15 months? Have you filed a police report?

The stock was cracked in several places, but after sending him a few pics he assured me he could fix it. After agreeing on a price, I sent the stock to him (January of 2017). He said that he would work on it as he had time, and that it could take anywhere from a few days to a month. He never was good at updating me on progress, in fact I had to prod him for any info on how it was coming along. He then, after several months, asked me to send him the action, which he needed for "glass bedding"? I'm not familiar with that process, but I sent it to him, assuming that he needed it to make the repairs appear right. So, here we are 15 MONTHS later, and he has not responded to my requests to just send everything back to me, so that I could find another fix for the damaged firearm. In fact, I have PM'd FOUR Calguns mods asking for their help with this matter, without a single reply from any of them. Just thought Calguns people should be aware of this shyster. I'm out a priceless family heirloom, and I'm sickened by it.

Hope you get your gun back. You sent the stock to him.. i suggest taking a road trip to the adress you sent it to...

trap55 Care to address your accuser?

ARFrog 04-19-2018 9:11 PM

Don't know the story here....but I'm pretty sure there are probably two sides....

I would also guess that this is not the format or a proper use of forum rules to call someone out like this...at least I hope not....

So before someone asks to move this to the C&R forum so we can choose seconds and have a duel, maybe the aggrieved party can send a letter, ask for arbitration, go to small claims court or ?????????????

You probably should start a separate thread in general gun discussion. There has been various threads there about gunsmithing gone wrong. One involved being "chazzed" if you want to look that up.

Or that gunsmith I think called like Gunsmith Dan where a CGNer actually went to his house and banged on the doors and windows and threatened his family!

GM4spd 04-20-2018 3:29 AM

Wow. This thread ran off the tracks.

I agree, wrong place to bring this up. Go through the courts or go see him personally, but we don't need to know all of this.

Sequencer60 04-20-2018 11:32 AM

OP removed, no more from me on this thread.

Lets hope this turns out well. The OP seems to have been a respected member here. I know some of his post on the "Winchester" thread have been very helpful to me.

Wordupmybrotha 04-21-2018 6:56 AM

Yep, learned from a senior citizen at the range.

DArBad 04-21-2018 9:23 AM

I just did this 1 month ago.
