That's more of a lunch/dinner place, Mexico food is terrible for breakfast. :puke:

BonnieB 01-10-2013 12:39 PM

I was thinking more like bacon and eggs and home fries and country gravy. (Mmmmm - bacon ...)

Maybe the Waffle Shop on Watt, almost right on the corner of Orange Grove. I'll check it out soon, to see if it's good.

Would people rather have these National Holiday Shoots in the evenings, so people who work holidays could come?

If so, do we think ranges will be swamped on the evenings of National Holidays?

I was thinking mornings, so we could be standing at the door when they open...

Lazyme 01-11-2013 7:22 PM

I'm an early bird so the earlier the better.

Sennasixty8 01-26-2013 6:25 AM

We might stop by on our way back from Reno...

2shotjoe 02-01-2013 9:02 AM

Doesn't really matter to me, since I usually try to get out of town on 3 day weekends, work permitting.

Trapper 02-04-2013 8:36 PM

I'd be up for breakfast and a range trip on the 18th.

BonnieB 02-05-2013 6:28 PM

OK, so we're on for 9 am, the morning of the 18th. Breakfast is still up in the air.

Will everyone who plans to attend PM me, so I can publish a list? I'd like to be able to tell the Gun Range folks how many I expect.

How much of an issue is the current ammo shortage? I was at The Gun Range today, and they had a limited supply of several kinds of ammo for sale, for range use only. So maybe they can cover anyone who's short.

LexTalionis 02-06-2013 10:21 PM

Them being finicky about what ammunition is used only makes the shortage worse. I understand why because PHYSICS but their guidance on their site seems slim. Perhaps that's because I always had someone give me my ammunition so I never really had to think about it.

2shotjoe 02-08-2013 8:22 AM

Picked up some more ammo. Discount Shooters Supply off hw80 and Riverside Ave has ammo in stock.

They have new rules or something?

BonnieB 02-08-2013 8:51 AM

Here's a link to the range rules for The Gun Range http://thegunrange.biz/the-gun-range-shooting-rules/

There are no new rules I can see. I think Lex is referring to the 'no steel' rule. TGN has never allowed steel there, as far as I know.

2shotjoe 02-08-2013 9:30 AM

I may rent a gun, gonna try them out before I buy. :43:

Loopwell 02-08-2013 3:05 PM

I can't make it. I have work :(

Desdemmonna 02-08-2013 5:40 PM

I just posted a request for a lift from East Bay so may show up. I need to get out more to these events.

BonnieB 02-17-2013 7:02 PM

Sacramento Calgunners,

It's here, it's tomorrow! Clean your guns and get a good night's sleep! I'll see you Monday, 9 am, at the Gun Range.

10xhobby 02-17-2013 9:06 PM

I will be going to the gun range tomorrow after work around 6:00 pm. Maybe I will see some members that also had to work.

akoba 02-17-2013 9:23 PM

I can go there around 11am or 12pm. Depend on the schedule. I have ork at 2pm and its close to TGR. I have only 40 rounds of 223 and 80 rounds of 5.56. I just bought a used shotgun and i want to try it.

Poms&Guns 02-17-2013 9:25 PM

BonnieB...Do you know if there are ever any Calgun shoots closer to the Santa Cruz area?? I'd love to get to Sac every now and then to meet folks, but it's a bit far to go every month. :)

BonnieB 02-17-2013 11:57 PM

Poms, there's a Second Saturday shoot in the San Jose area, here's the link. http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=379875

There are shoots from time to time at Chabot in the Berkeley Hills, check the contributor's forum and also check the NorCal Forum for casual shoots.

Poms&Guns 02-18-2013 12:00 AM

Great! Thanks a bunch!! It's difficult to know sometimes which forum to look in. :-)

E Michael 02-18-2013 2:44 PM

I went there at around 10:45 *its right down the street from my house* I didn't see this thread about a shoot going on there ha. There was a waiting list so I opted to just come back another day *I forgot it was prez day* I told the guy who worked there that i forgot and he replies "O and there are the cal gunners here today" haha dang you cal gunners!

Loopwell 02-19-2013 10:39 AM

So how was the shoot?

BonnieB 02-19-2013 11:48 AM

The President's Day Shoot went really well. We start early on national holidays, before the other shooters can get out of the rack and on the range (and on the waiting list.... :(

A few of us got there at 9:00 and went right into the back room. The Gun Range is really good about placing us together if they possibly can. Pretty much had it to ourselves. Right after I arrived, the waiting list stacked up.

There are no more national holidays until Memorial Day, so I'm thinking of a middle of the month evening shoot, maybe "Third Thursdays"?

What do folks think?

Loopwell 02-21-2013 12:01 AM

I just like meets! Even food meets! Doesn't have to be a specific holiday, but weekends are generally better for shooting.

BonnieB 02-22-2013 7:45 AM

Mid month weeknight shoot could include an early dinner at Sam's Hoffbrau, for instance. Dinner at 5, shoot at 6?
