Well, I guess it depends on the gun. Regardless of caliber, not many guns can shoot 0.24 MOA at 1000 yrds. ....which is the current record for the 50 bmg.

Pulsar 01-27-2007 12:45 PM

Grr, I need to get my camera fixed.

Want to post some pics of a rifle I'm building, a Rem 700 in .338 Lapua. I've got the gut's mostly finished (have to finish installing Sako style extractor). But I need to finish inletting the Anschutz style synthetic stock and then bed the rifle.

I've seen it on display at Turner's in Pasadena a few weeks ago.

With an effective range of 800 yards, the CZ 750 Sniper is ideal for use by the elite military and law enforcement snipers it was designed for. The synthetic thumbhole sniper style stock is adjustable for comb height as well as length of pull. Ooooooooh,

Now I envy you. I've been eyeing for one but haven't found a good deal. If you don't mind, how much did you pay for the rifle alone?

Thx

Mine, built on a Yugo Mauser.

midnitereaper 01-27-2007 9:53 PM

Do those cases come with the rifles or did you all get them custom made?

I really dont considered it a sniper rifle, more of my large game rifle. Its precise at 100yds. Rock Island Arsenal 1903, 30-06. This particular rifle was manufactured in 1934. The only original parts are the reciever, bolt, and trigger asembly, and mag spring.

They're not custom. Most of these cases come with a solid piece of foam and then you cut the foam to fit your equipment. I know that Pelican also have a service to pre-cut the foam for you at the factory if you have a factory rifle for which they have the dimensions and general shape.

CALI-gula 01-28-2007 6:20 PM

All very nice guns, very nice indeed. Beautiful creatures!!

But how many of you have actually taken snipe with these sniper rifles? :D

Just a basic Rem 700P in 300WinMag. Once the barrel is toast and I can afford to have it rebuilt it will goto GA Precision to have George Gardner rebuild it.

http://home.bak.rr.com/varmintcong/Rem700/newscope.jpg

Current handload fired in a wind that required 5.5MOA of windage at 800 yards.

63 tango, what caliber is your 700?

My dad and I bought a Remington 700 in 7mm mag this week. We are trying to pick a scope and rings for it. How do you like your optics?

63 tango 01-29-2007 5:13 AM

its a .308. i got the scope because its the correct scope for the vietnam sniper rifle. the optics look good and it has a range finder. but i havent fired the rifle yet, but i cant wait.

Upsss!!! My mistake... You're right Donger, it should read "MOD 0". "SPR MK-12 MOD-0" (I should stop posting late at night. :o )

Regarding my upper, I actually put it together. It took me almost 8 months to get all the parts (from December 2005 to July 2006). The OPS-INC 12th. series muzzle brake, collar and suppressor was really hard to get!

Pablo,
Your rifle is pretty much 80% of the real thing. I will be building one myself and with your set up, I would say its better than the original...:D

proraptor 01-29-2007 5:08 PM

The last 20% being a M16 lower receiver and the "full-auto/burst" trigger group?

I am considering building myself one too. I will be going MOD 1 tho, w/ KAC FF handguard.....
