Ventura Chapter CalGuns monthly shoot hosted by Island View Enterprises.

Fee is $5.00 for the day. IVE is also providing access to their members lounge so we can hang out.

Ammo restriction: No black powder and no steel jacketed bullets (their bullet trap is steel and those could damage it) so brass cased only.

What calibers can we shoot? up to 50BMG.

yeah I'd like to meet everyone... I just can't be there till 8. I'll probably have my tactical zombie shoot shirt on since its the only calguns shirt I have.

cant handle mild steel jackets, but can handle 50BMG

Their range, their rules.

My guess is it's just easier to say no magnetic, then you don't have to worry about figuring out what us bi-metal jacket and what's steel core.

but you can shoot up to 50bmg.

its not about the steel, its about wanting the brass to reload/resell

hahaha 22 isn't cheap anymore! :/ almost all of my ammo for all of my guns will attract a magnet.

I hear you loud and clear. Been hesitant to shoot because to replace is gonna break the bank and I'm not very good anyway. Never the less, I hate for that to be the deciding factor. So, I've got .22 and I'll gladly make some available for any members in need at the meet. I've got the guns to shoot em in too.

Another thing is, I barely end up shooting at most meets. Just as much fun (for me anyway) to stand around "shooting" the chit. :D

On average how many people show up to these events?

Average? I'd say an average across all the months would be about a dozen.
Last month seemed to me to be the largest crowd we've had (I haven't been at every single meet though) of around 20+ or -.

I'm not much for paying attention to the calendar. So it came as a surprise to me that this Friday is also the start of labor day weekend...

I was slacking, Ready beat me to the bump. :-)

Shooting lanes were packed! Island View running a special yesterday, I bought 3 targets, and shot to my hearts content (bout 2 hours) and paid $4

Chatted with Readysetgo on my way out, he is a great ambassador for the sport and Calguns. Next time if I can remember to bring some cash I'll buy a shirt!

He even hooked me up with some .22 for my kids (they get new single-shot 22s for their birthday this year) and some shoot-n-see targets!
