Lee full length sizing die problems?
Just got myself a Lee Pace Setter 3 set die for the .223
as I am decapping/resizing I noticed the sizing pin would move around up and down and I cannot deprime or size at all. What is the problem? |

The stem floats in that collet when it's not tight enough. http://media.midwayusa.com/productim...434/434975.jpg |
Pictures are up! it's that pin that keeps moving around :(
now how do I tighten that collet? because I've tried every wrench and method possible... |

One on the body and one on the hex nut looking piece at the top of the die. Tighten that nut against the die body. |

The 2nd wrench goes on the die body on those two flats, NOT on the locking nut at the press. |

I had the same problem when I first got my Lee dies, the collet wasn't on tight enough and as a result, I got the sizing stem stuck inside of a case, was not fun trying to get it out. Once I got it out and tightened the collet down enough, I never had any problems.

finally fixed the issue
thanks Randall!! |
I had this same problem with Lee's Universal Decapper...
Majorly crimped primers would push the pin back. Same fix. |
That rod needs to be tightened pretty tight. There is a very fine balance between tight enough to decap crimped primers and not so tight as to break the pin. I've broken a couple of pins and unfortunately they are part of the rod and the entire rod needs to be replaced. Lee kindly replaces them for free.
