SFV Chapter Monthly Shoot 09/27; 7PM @ The Firing Line (Burbank)

SFV Chapter Calgunners,

Since Pistol Poker was so popular last month, is everyone up to try there luck at another round? Although the winner was two pair, I think there may have been some flushes that were overlooked simply because the targets are not in color, so it's in your own benefit to take a little extra time when looking at your target to see if you have something that's not quite as obvious. Same rules as last time, we'll be using the poker targets (52 cards fronts and backs), and they'll need to be shot a 10yds through the backs, with no looking at the targets prior to shooting them. It'll be $5 per target with $1 going to cover the targets, and the remaining $4 in a pool to the winner. We may divide the $$$ up for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd, or maybe I can find some other gun stuff to give away. I'm also probably going to come up with a "wild" tweak to make it a little more fun.

As always they'll be Calguns swag available for purchase (t-shirts, patches, key chains, pins, gun case tags, ... I'll also have the NRA/Winchester qualification packages for sale (I promise) and we'll be picking up pizza as usual around 8:30PM or so.

For all of those that have been shooting the qualification courses for the NRA\Winchester Qualification Program, I will again have the paper plates for those just staring out, or wanting to start, AP-1s for those looking to progress through the ranks, and certificate packages for those ready to advance with me and available for sale. I have the whole gamut of packages from Pro-Marksman through Expert in addition to the pistol patches and Winchester rockers.

I just made Expert, and accidentally shot over the course twice. I know some of you are falling behind, and need to step up your game. :D I am planning to do DE this weekend if everything works out.

Don't forget, the first 20 people to sign-up and show up at the event will get a raffle ticket for the free GLOCK we're giving away at the end of the year. You must be a Calgunner of legal age, and a non-prohibited person to win.

I look forward to seeing and shooting with you all next week.

- RoundEye

It's that time again. Join us at The Firing Line in Burbank (1060 North Lake Street, Burbank) for the NEXT SFV Chapter Monthly Shoot of 2013 which will be held on 08/30/2013 @ 7:00 PM.

Please review the following details pertaining to the meet:

Pistols - The occasional double tap is acceptable (but if it's get's out of line the privilege will be taken away), no holstered pistols, no drawing from a holster, no open carry (all standard indoor range safety rules apply)
Rifles - The only permitted rifles must be of handgun caliber (9mm, .40, .357, 5.7mm, etc... are acceptable). ARs/AKs of the 22lr variant are also welcome.
Shotguns - Unfortunately, given the size of the range (47ft), shotguns are NOT permitted.
Cost - $10, stay and shoot as long as you want!
*CalGunners get membership prices on ammo and rentals.
** Firing Line members are free to attend.

REMINDER: - When you're there your actions represent the entire Calguns community. We should always take responsibility for our actions, and treat their facility with the utmost respect.

As usual, we'll be able to utilize their training room to eat dinner, hangout, chit-chat, and purchase swag. In addition, as usual they will be reserving an entire side of the range for us, and depending on the turnout we may have to take turns and/or expand into the other range. We'll also be providing Costco pizza at 8:30 PM or so for anyone that is hungry and wants to eat.

So, who's in? You know there is nothing better that you'd rather do on a Friday night than shoot some guns with fellow CalGunners!

* If you're interested in volunteering your time and helping coordinate this shoot, or one like it in your area, contact me for details. *

I'm in! I ditched the mighty beard though, so maybe my shooting will be better without such a huge obstruction in my way. Here's hoping...

PM720 09-19-2013 6:15 PM

I won't be making it this month. I have to go to that gun hell known as Canada that weekend. Probably have to leave all the blades at home too! Don't know how I'm going to shave! :(

I hope everyone has a great time!

Scott

Nice! Are you training to be the next American Idol? I'm sure we could get a bunch of Calgunners to come down to your audition and cheer you on... :D

Damc1911 09-27-2013 12:30 PM

I can bring a Rock Island GI .45 and you can shoot it and handle it all you want if you have some ammo.

It's not pretty or fancy, just the basic GI version.

Off the Roster 09-27-2013 7:27 PM

ahhh, wont be there after all. auction off my raffle ticket for some pocket money : )

choo2x 09-27-2013 11:56 PM

It was fun hanging out, shooting the breeze and some lead with everyone.

Thanks to Paul for the 5 double taps. It's nice to know the boss man can go wild with a .22 LR pistol :D and get my friend Chad a small dissertation about it. :rofl2:

Congrats to all who made it to the next level in their Winchester/NRA Qualifications.
