Santa Maria Gun Show

Just wanted to see if anyone was going to the Santa Maria Gun Show Feb 23-24? Ill go looking for some reloading supplies. You? Didnt know where to post this so sorry if im in the wrong thread.

Kali-Jax 02-11-2013 9:58 PM

Yep. I'll be there.

Breadfan 02-11-2013 10:05 PM

I may go how good is it

Emdawg 02-11-2013 10:21 PM

It can be okay. Depends on what you are looking for.

It doesn't get as crazy as other gun shows, so the Mil-wal stand should be reasonable.

Other than that some okay knick-knacks. I found 7.62 NATO for $5 a box last time.

TheBerryMan 02-12-2013 3:42 AM

Im from the area but been away at college so ive missed the last couple years of shows. Would you guys say there is a good selection of products?

Andyman562 02-12-2013 8:41 AM

I'll be there as well

Ford8N 02-12-2013 7:15 PM

I will skip, the dealers are not willing to bargain. They ask ya if you want to make an offer, then get hostile when you do. No thanks.

mabilis_matulis 02-12-2013 10:33 PM

It's to far from me..:clown:

LOL...I live here and didn't even know SM had a gun show. Where is it?

SteveG 02-13-2013 8:18 AM

I went last year and was really disappointed. Gun prices were higher than The Outdoorsman in Grover Beach where I'd just bought a gun, it was REALLY small & reloads were priced the same as I could buy new. Aside from that, there was TONS of Chinese garbage and knock-off accessories. I vowed to never go again....

That said, today is an entirely different climate, so I might go again just for the entertainment value.

Not as bad as the Roadrunner show in Ventura.

Kali-Jax 02-13-2013 11:09 AM

Carpool from AG anyone?

Just going for reloading supplies and maybe ammo...

I am leaving early.

ott1 02-13-2013 3:09 PM

Nipomo BBQ anyone?

TheBerryMan 02-13-2013 5:18 PM

Well I hope it's good this year. Going for reloading supplies. Will Calguns have a booth?

May have to check it out for the same reason.

TheBerryMan 02-14-2013 8:12 AM

Ill be looking mainly for pistol powder, rifle/pistol primers, 243/308/9mm bullets. Probably what everyone else is looking for :facepalm:

funnybookz 02-14-2013 10:50 PM

My wife and I are going. Any idea what time it opens and how much admission is?

TheBerryMan 02-17-2013 6:45 AM

I think admission will be around $10. Not sure what time they open either

brokentapedeck 02-20-2013 7:06 PM

judging from the venders tightness and high prices from the previous years and now the obumer gun buy frenzy i think this show is going to be a bust

TheBerryMan 02-22-2013 8:05 PM

game time tomorrow! bolt action 22 is what i want now

Kali-Jax 02-23-2013 6:35 AM

When does it open?

SILENT GUNMAN 02-23-2013 7:09 AM

No idea when it opens but I plan on leaving around 9 just to see what they have. I'm hoping to find some SIG 229 .40 mags but Its probably going to be just as cleaned out as the local shops.

TheBerryMan 02-23-2013 10:28 AM

Super long lines at 8am. Opened at 9am. Good selection of powders and bullets at fair prices. Lines to buy were ridiculous but i got what i came for. Tons of people. Admish was $9 today and will be free tomorrow. Might go back for another tub of powder. I picked up some unique and ramshot tac. Lots of imr powders too. Just a quick update. Lots of rebuild kits and ar selection however very inflated prices.

brokentapedeck 02-23-2013 12:00 PM

what about surplus ammo?

TheBerryMan 02-23-2013 12:50 PM

Didnt see much of that. Mostly pmc 223 and 22lr that i saw people slobering over. They had a good amount of magnum primers, small pistol primers ($49). No large rifle primers however

SILENT GUNMAN 02-23-2013 2:25 PM

Talk about insanity! $55 for a Glock factory mag! I think this is the last time I'll be going to one of these gun shows. Its so not worth it to wait 40 min in line to get ripped off by people who just a couple months ago had all the same items for 1/3 the price they were charging today.

That's why I didn't go.

TheBerryMan 02-23-2013 8:21 PM

Powder, bullets and primers had fair prices. 1lb of unique was $23 for example. not sure about the factory ammo but i would guess it would be inflated. Non AR firearms were decently priced. had your occasional stand with a guy asking for ridiculous prices

lockpicker70 02-23-2013 8:40 PM

thanks for the heads up berryman .

Wondering as I have not been to this on before . Do they charge you for parking ?

And where there any vendors selling smithing tools , dies , stocks , I.E. non ar / ammo / part kits ?

I am in need of misc items at the moment .

Thanks

Its $3 for parking inside but you can park in the street for free. I saw one table loaded with RCBS dies. A couple tables with brushes, punch kits, nice files. I saw some things that were priced to not sell if you catch my drift. Tons of gear such as range bags, rifle bags. No good hard cases though.

Understood Berryman . Was hopin to find misc stuff that I need . Not in need of any of the " high demand " items . But if no ones selling misc ( parts , tools , etc) I'll spend my money else where . Probably at SLOSA .

Thanks

do they have swap meets or a store front at SLOSA? I have never been there.

lockpicker70 02-25-2013 6:04 PM

No swap meets or store front .

It's the range in San Luis Obispo .
