Not a red dot, but I was a little amazed how many photos there are of US troops using ACOG's with no backup rear sight.

I was told the matech get's snagged on gear and is a PITA...so guys toss it in their sack. I think that is what you are seeing.

The matech sight is a piece of junk IMO. The KAC 200-600 micro is a much nicer back up sight.

Anything man made fails and when it does I don't want to have to go home to fix it....sometimes the trip home is 5+hrs so the MBUS are always on my guns, and I always have extra batteries in my grip!

Plus like someone else said it sure makes sighting things in a lot easier!
