M1 Garand grease

Anyone know where in the Sacramento area I can get some hands on instruction on maintaining the M1 Garand? I tried reading several books. I just don't learn well that way. Need to do to learn. Any help?

Almost everything you need to know about your M1 Garand.....

If you have specific questions, ask away!

I hope you already know to be careful with commercial modern 30/06, right?

Me too. Excellent stuff. Think mine is non-lithium though.

+1 on the How to Grease Your Garand link posted by Tanner68. Tetra Gun Grease from Turner's, Midway or wherever, works well for me.

Tractor grease...moly like 6mmintl cheap and good stuff.

That's it baby!

OP, it's not difficult.

You can find videos for field stripping, loading, and shooting.

On Youtube I have even seen official WW2 Army videos about the weapon.

Any of the stuff mentioned here works, including Lubriplate 930, TW-25B, RIG, etc etc.

I have white lithium on mine because that's what I have on hand.

High temp wheel bearing grease does just fine. I use Maxima without any issues.

Ok.. Tanner68.... great link. Seems to be the exact information as in Scott Duff's book, only way better color pictures, and organized so I don't have to keep flipping pages back and forth!!

Thank you all, and if any of you ever do hear about a place to get hands on, I'd still be interested.
