repubconserv 05-12-2012 4:48 PM

And I'd love to keep helping

Im just excited for when we can put one of these up in all the canyons

leman77 05-12-2012 4:54 PM

Great job!

wjc 05-12-2012 5:38 PM

Outstanding!

...and pretty good PR I might add. Lets the local LEO's know who's doing the cleaning and not the littering.

imtheomegaman 05-12-2012 5:40 PM

bravo looks professional and hopefully inspires better behavior

AK all day 05-12-2012 5:43 PM

Couldn't this be considered littering in itself? Just asking, not saying anything bad, I think it's great.

chillincody 05-12-2012 5:46 PM

awesome idea man hope every one reads and follows it and not just use it as a target lol you know how peps are : )

On That Note :::::

Actually , I was given the idea by the LOE Ranger that Patrols that area
And is Very supportive .

She has seen all the hard work the Cal-Gun Volunteers have been doing to help keep this place open and clean

Last Sunday was the 4th 'Canyon Clean-up ' I've had out there / It's making a differance

" You guys need to put up some kind of sign in the area you clean-up "

So ...I ran with it .............

OH! Well okay, that cool then. It makes people realize they are not the only people who shoot there.

When they get tore up or tattered I am sure they will be cleaned up and replaced.

The US Forest Service office in our area is very supportive twards people that make an effort like this. Last year they gave me permission to put up signs to try and keep people from shooting the big pine trees in my area.

The signs look good Ron... Great Job!!!, I will kick in $40 to help you with the cost of these or to make more for the next canyons we clean.

ColtShooter 05-12-2012 9:33 PM

Well she'd be the one to let you know if there's an issue so go with it. Very professional sign and awesome to have the forest service support.

SilentPea 05-13-2012 6:11 AM

Looks awesome, my only concern is the misappropriation of the sign as a target backer...

Worse than that ...................

Somebody just plain ' Took One ' !!!!!!!!!

I went out late in the day yesterday and one was gone
Stand and all............................
I'm going out today with a replacement .........................................

Always have a back-up

DougJ 05-13-2012 7:05 AM

I need some of those that say "this area" rather than "This Canyon" for the National Forest up here, great job guys.

Just because the Ranger allows it doesn't make it legal.

ShooterDK 05-13-2012 2:41 PM

Nice job, OP!

I'm NOT even going to start with you on this one ..................................

The Signs have been installed for almost a week / and NO trash

jhoveln 05-13-2012 8:42 PM

I was up in the second to last canyon on Friday and it looked great except for the freshly shot up tv some idiot had left up off the side of one of the rises. Needless to say, I didn't leave it behind.

Eat Dirt 05-13-2012 9:16 PM

Good News Gang ,,

The signs are working ..............

A Full weekend and the signs are NOT shot-up and the 3 Canyons that were Cleaned-Up are still in good shape !!!!

socalbowhunter 05-14-2012 4:40 AM

Eat Dirt, if you need more signs, let me know. I'd be glad to donate some. I have a vinyl cutter, plenty of vinyl, lots of coroplast and stakes.

ColtShooter 05-14-2012 5:44 AM

Well the ranger would be the most likely to take issue right? If they are ok with it, better yet even suggested it, then run with it. Why would you rain on somebody's parade? Sounds like the Forest Service, who may not have the means themselves, is allowing it for a job well done.

Thank You Sir ...................
Your intelligent words are Greatly appericated

ColtShooter 05-14-2012 6:35 AM

No problem! I appreciate what your group is doing. I use the canyon myself - mostly riding my dirtbike but sometimes plinking - and think you deserve the recognition. Just don't understand whys some try to bring others down. The signs look Professional and respectable which is probably why forestI service doesnt object!

mrlonewolf 05-16-2012 6:02 PM

Outstanding...!!!!!!

A big thank you goes to Mr. Eat Dirt and fellow volunteers for an amazing job.

PS. We can actually make a difference for our future generations..... Picking up one spent case at a time.

Respectfully.

Lonewolf.

And the signs are still there ...............

Nice Work!
Now when folks look online to see what other CA gun owners are doing...
well, it makes up for the OT forum.
No, really, that makes me proud to be a Cal-gunner.

Umm Im kinda ashamed you are even from this town

If the ranger gives the ok to place signs that all that matters
their HOUSE their RULES
laws are laws but what is enforced and what isnt enforced is something totally different

Eatdirt, well done :)
those signs look great

stilly 05-19-2012 9:37 AM

Those signs certainly look better than grafitti on the rocks.

Did you get the blessings from the rangers before you put them up there?

Hey this could be a new trend. Selling off ADOPT-A-RANGE advertising and with a small donation of several hundred to several thousand you can get advertising on the signs because you adopted that range for that cleanup...

:\ I should look for marketing jobs now...

To answer your question

Eat Dirt 05-20-2012 8:24 PM

The Signs are working !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are still there ..........

Not shot up ....................

The Canyons we cleaned are staying CLEAN .............

Sanderhawk 05-21-2012 5:02 AM

That is outstanding.

VMCJ-3 05-21-2012 7:11 AM

Well done, EatDirt.
Considering the 'demographics' of Bee Canyon, shouldn't some be made up in Spanish? I'm just sayin'...

readysetgo 05-21-2012 8:03 AM

Excellent use of the noodle! You should be proud.

Seriously that's down right genius.

Somebody call that reporter from CBS up north and tell 'em to run an important story about how shooters are actually stewarding the environment (after they shoot their "bullet button" equipped rifles).

Good on ya! :cheers2:

Be careful handling those shot up TVs though. The CRTs might have some pretty nasty chemicals in them.

EdgarCervantes 05-28-2012 10:13 PM

This is badass! We should do somthing like this at the spot in Perris
