Steam returns a "Busy Please Try Again Later Message" and installation stops. Tried again later, same message.

That's why 'activation' is full of crap. If I've paid for the damn game, they already have proof it's a legal: my money.

+ 100000000000000

I didn't buy it to stare at the box. I bought it to play it. I've waited long enough.

For the record, that might not be the issue. There are lots of unanswered posts out there about Steam having permissions issues in Vista 64bit. So at this point, that may or not be the issue.

Thanks for the link. Tried everything on that page that applied to my system and still no joy. So either the servers have been busy for 3 straight days at all hours of the day (which is unlikely and would piss me off much more than a simple coding error since they should have planned for this release)...or there is an unknown issue going on. I emailed Steam for support.

The entire idea about using the 3rd party to install the game and constantly monitor the rights really ticks me off to begin with. They really are spying on you. They are keeping track of what games you play and when...and telling you when can you play and with whom. That is just wrong. The way they are handling support is wrong as well. The two companies are just passing the buck back and forth. The fact that Steam has known issues with such a laundry list of commonly used programs and yet Activision chose to use them is also telling. They don't give a damn about the end user. It's not like I can return it. Though I could dispute the credit card charge since they sold me a defective product and refuse to take it back. All that does is hurt the store I bought it from. Not Activision or Steam.
