San Diego Mayoral Candidates -- any less hostile to the 2A?
If anyone has any info on which candidate would be less hostile to our 2A rights than the others, please post up here. I know more than a few people who would be happy to vote for such a candidate.
Thanks |
me, write me in on the ballot and I will be a pro 2a mayor.

Found the list of the people running.
Declared Mike Aguirre, former San Diego City Attorney (Won't get my vote) David Alvarez, San Diego City Councilman (Won't get my vote) Kevin Faulconer, San Diego City Councilman Nathan Fletcher, former State Representative and mayoral candidate in 2012 Potential runner - William Gore, San Diego County Sheriff. He's anti-gun. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Die...013#Candidates |
Faulconer is the least evil on the major players. If they have a D after their name they are anti gun. Look at the folks in Sacramento and see how they vote.

Don't know who this guy is...

We have a judicial candidate lined up to speak to us for our first meeting. His name is Ken Gosselin. 2.As a member of the Republican Central Committee, I hope to keep our members informed of Republican activities in the County and to give our members some access to local Republican decision making. If you wish to stay apprised of Republican activities sign up for this meetup group: http://www.sbswcrc.com 3.One of members at the Chula Vista Tea Party has a series of videos on the U.S. Constitution. We are planning on showing these on consecutive Fridays starting on September 27, 2013. We will have more details as that date approaches, see them on the website: http://www.meetup.com/Tea-PartySouthbay/ 4.I have thrown my hat in the ring for the San Diego Mayor race. There are a few issues that I feel I can raise during the campaign. First, with our strong mayor form of government, the mayor provides direction to the Chief of Police. I want a mayor who will instruct the Chief of Police to issue Concealed Carry Weapons Permits (CCW's) to qualified law abiding citizens for personal protection based on objective known standards, as provided for in the California Constitution. CCW permit holders lower murder rates, reduce criminal activity and keep safe, our neighborhoods, communities and citizens. With a super majority of Democrats in the state legislature proposing and passing ever more oppressive gun control laws, we need a strong advocate for 2nd Amendment rights running for Mayor. Lower tax rates, less regulation, smaller government, adherence to the U.S. Constitution, Conservative and Christian values are a few more of the issues that are important to me. I need 200 signatures of registered voters in the City of San Diego gathered in 2 weeks (before 9-20-2013) to qualify for the ballot. If you want a candidate with these values and If you have some friends who live in the City of San Diego and can gather a few signatures please contact me.More background:www.LincolnPickard.com Republican Platform. I'm a democrat and very pro-gun. Maybe I should run. :P

Any input on the upcoming (Nov.) vote for a new sheriff? :)

Lincoln Pickard is a member of the Friends of the NRA Members council.
One of the primary ideas he is running on is that as a "strong mayor" he would be able to direct the chief of police to adopt a Shall Issue stance on CCW's for San Diego city residents. He is also fiscally conservative. I wish I could vote for him, but I don;t live in the city. |

Lincoln Pickard is a very active 2A person. He is not just pro firearms he is a 2A advocate. He deserves your vote
|
Lincoln looks favorable in my opinion based off of what michael js posted. If we had a shall issue county i would honestly not be able to sleep due to excitement
|
Yes, he's who I'm leaning towards voting for next month...still researching...
Keep any info coming!! We need a change!! |
So if we were to get a pro 2a mayor he would be able to make the sheriff issue ccw's?

Lincoln Pickard has got my vote!
|
Lincoln, has run for mayor, and only God knows how many other positions, while I like his 2A views but he'll never make it, zero name recognition that's how we got stuck with Filner.
|
This may really suck, again :(
other choice? |

Voter Turnout
The results are in. Well sort of. Mail in ballots are not added yet.
The really sad part of this election.......... Approximately 2 in 3 registered voters did NOT vote! S |
yup, too bad! We both voted, by mail...stupid people...then they complain; well, they do anyway...
|
OK, any info on which of these axxhats to vote for??
David Alvarez, San Diego City Councilman Kevin Faulconer, San Diego City Councilman They say in the lessor of 2 evils, don't go for either...I WON'T vote for the union loving alvarez, and fackoner is no better. Maybe I won't be voting... Thoughts?? |
Feinstein just endorsed Alvazer, he's supported bringing back the assault weapons ban.
|
Alvarez is no better than the rest of his kind in Sacramento, Hueso and Gonzalez. I'm sure he has aspirations to move on to bigger and better things.
|
Alvarez is supportive of gun bans . He is endorsed by Frankenstein . So , please support Faulkner . This could be tragic for San Diego gun owners . If Faulkner gets in , then it could send a message that maybe they should change their ways .
|
Two evils....Faulconer is endorsed by Sherriff Gore
|
Just got off the phone with the Alvarez tele-marketer, asking me to vote for him. I asked what is his stance on the Constitution and specificly the second amendment. She did not have a response that she transfered me to another person with also no response.
|
Alvarez is anti Bill of Rights, all of them.
Faulconer not much better but better then Alvarez. After all, they are politicians, they follow the money, that's all that counts to them. We the people? Only if you have money. |
I don't have a dog in this fight as I don't live in the city. But if I did, it would probably be Falconer. I just don't trust democraps!
|
Anyone endorsed by Frankenstein is a no brainer anti-gun/anti 2nd amendment
|
I'll be voting for Faulconer, lesser of two evil. Alvarez will just be out to help the Mexicans even more.
Since Feinstein just endorsed Alvazer, all the more reason not to vote for him. |

The usual suspects support Alvarez.
De leon. Steinberg Lee, Fienstein |
Faulconer is probably better for 2A than Alvarez, but Faulconer supports gun control. He has the endorsement of the SD Police officer's association which on the surface sounds good, but SD police chief William Lansdowne is on record saying he supports Obama/Feinstein gun control and joyfully says it will disarm Americans within a generation.

There are other issues but the 2A is a good litmus test for how a politician views the relationship between .gov & the constituents. I have some pretty strong disagreements with a few planks of the Republican platform. |
KUSI just ran a package about Alvarez supporting Mayor Against Illegal Guns Pledge, Common Sense gun legislation, and tightening Federal Laws while denouncing Faulconer for not not supporting the above.
There's your answer folks. Alvarez is a no go for gun rights. |
Alvarez is endorsed by Feinstein .
What does that tell you.if he is elected he would probably try to make standard cap mags and semi auto rifles illegal on the city as per his dark master's bidding. Faulconer is the only choice for any Calgunner in San Diego. |
