This is why CGF has been so quiet. There is a mission now! Finally we can take it to them. Good work Gene and co.!

artherd 06-27-2008 12:57 AM

I'm very excited to be able to finally come out of the gates swinging.

Guys, in the wake of Heller we are going to have state level moping up to do. For the first time in 200 years we have the ability to do so.

You all know us, you know what we're capable of on our own, splintered. Now unified under one roof, get ready to see some MAJOR changes in CA!

adamsreeftank 06-27-2008 1:06 AM

$$$ Inbound!

Happy Heller day!

PonchoTA 06-27-2008 5:16 AM

Regarding this section of item #3:

"to help make Law Enforcement, DA's and Judges aware of ... the regulations around magazine fixing kits."(emphasis mine)

Why is this an issue? The BOF is not bringing this up, are they? I suggest letting sleeping dogs lie on this...

EBR Works 06-27-2008 7:14 AM

Paypal inbound. Thanks for your efforts.

Biff... 06-27-2008 7:28 AM

Kishfisser 06-27-2008 7:36 AM

Does the foundation have its nonprofit status yet?

69Mach1 06-27-2008 9:01 AM

Donation sent.

toolman9000 06-27-2008 9:31 AM

Paypal sent! Keep up the great work!

Fjold 06-27-2008 9:51 AM

Is there any time frame when we will know the non-profit status?

If I can get the tax deduction it frees up another 30-40% to make more donations.

soopafly 06-27-2008 10:49 AM

Ugh, no way I'm using paypal...I'm writing a personal check...

bruss01 06-27-2008 11:38 AM

My wife is not working right now so this is a sacrifice but...

Just sent $100.00 using PayPal.

It's a cause I believe in. Use it well (I'm sure you will).

hoffmang 06-27-2008 11:50 AM

1. The education around mag fixing kits is to make sure that DAs and Law Enforcement understand that Prince-50's and BB's are legal. There is no new FUD, just a lack of education out there.

2. We don't report your donations to anyone. If you mark on the donation that you wish to remain anonymous, you will to everyone but the people actually handling your deposit (CGF board members/treasurer.)

3. We expect to submit our non-profit status paperwork this weekend. However, the deductibility of your donation should we receive non-profit status, would be retroactive.

hahahah!! I'm such an idiot! Thanks for clarifying Gene! I was thinking 'kits to fix (repair) broken magazines'!!

What a dumbass! I'm with ya now! I totally concur with getting the correct info out there. We also need to concentrate on getting the info out to the gun SHOP owners too, they are just as guilty as anyone for having/spreading the wrong info.

Thanks again!

RedDawn 06-27-2008 11:59 AM

Check on the way.
Would rather support the USPS than PayPal when I can.:D

SuperSet 06-27-2008 2:42 PM

Light them up guys!

bigdave1121 06-27-2008 3:39 PM

Just sent $25 to the paypal account. I wish I could donate more to the cause, but unfortunately I'm just a broke-*** college student.

I would be totally willing to offer my services in other ways to the CalGuns Foundation as a volunteer.

If you think of any way I can help just PM me.

bones138 06-27-2008 5:58 PM

I sent what I could for now, I'll send more once my GI Bill kicks in.

JDC 06-27-2008 6:04 PM

Paypal sent.

artherd 06-27-2008 6:06 PM

Guys, even a little bit helps a LOT! If every calguns member gives even 25 bux we can effect radical change.

Thank you all who have donated so far. Gene and I (and the rest of the Foundation) are excited to be able to put your money directly to work!

Kestryll 06-27-2008 6:15 PM

Let's see if we can make it even easier....

Will donate regardless, but is there any chance of getting one of those nifty magnets that were given out from Trutanich-Michel during the BWO fund drive? I never got one. :(

rkt88edmo 06-27-2008 9:21 PM

Is CGF going to get registered with a number for United Way?

duenor 06-27-2008 9:22 PM

Ponied up.

elenius 06-27-2008 9:50 PM

"Offensive legal activism" :)

I'll take this opportunity to say that I am very proud to be part of this movement. I love this country and hopefully by the time I get my citizenship, it will be an even freer, better place.

Let's get 'em!

Davidwhitewolf 06-28-2008 11:10 AM

Paypal sent.

I'm also linking to this thread on various gun boards and blog comments to help spread awareness across the country (and maybe get some more donations). California's the front lines, now!

+1 I'm surprised that a pro-2A group would help support PayPal. I know that PP is widely used, etc. but it seems to me that telling people who want to use PayPal, "Look, PayPal is no friend of ours, we won't use them and neither should you, start using instead and support those who support us" would be a good idea. Putting ideology aside, it wouldn't surprise me if PayPal froze the account in response to a complaint that their system was being used for "gun-related activity"... it's a real risk, and AFAIK there's no recourse, as they aren't (at least last time I looked) a chartered bank.
