Handgun Wait Support Group Thread

I bought a new handgun last week and have 4 more days to go until I can pick it up. The days seem to go by so slow! :(

Anyone else in their 10 day waiting period?

s10rick 11-12-2008 9:14 PM

Ahh... yes the 10 day wait. I dont know what it is but the 10 day waits just kill me. I have found that it helps to spend the 10 days buying all the acc. you can find for your new baby so that when it does come home it feels comfortable with teh others.

I can go pick up my newest toy on Monday. Everything should have arrived by then ;)

ewxlt66 11-12-2008 9:19 PM

Yes, sir. I'm with you! I'm at the 11th hour though. I pick up tomorrow at 11:44 am! :44:

Kingofthehill 11-12-2008 9:22 PM

9 days 20 hours!

Vacaville 11-12-2008 9:39 PM

I'm waiting on a rifle - 4 days, 15 hours to go.............

Scope is coming in the mail, it should get here about the same time..............

My Buyer's Guide and all my magazine articles just don't have meaning any more. The decision has been made.

This is sadly true. Treasure those feelings, after while it's just another gun. . .

Angie 11-12-2008 10:09 PM

I'm still waiting for the end of the 30 day so I can start my 10 day! :(

I really do miss the feeling I got a few years ago when I picked up a gun
it was so awesome
now they just feel like tools
its still cool but its like getting a set of snapons

RedDawn 11-12-2008 10:22 PM

Picking mine up tomorrow after 2:13pm. :D

Mr. Meeseeks 11-12-2008 10:26 PM

For me it still varies, from gun to gun. However, it definitely isn't like the first few times. Man, back then I counldn't get the gun out of my mind, like an addict.

BTW, I just PPTed a gun today and yeah, I'm not feeling the jones as hard.

SoCal50Lover 11-12-2008 10:35 PM

I still have a week to go before my 10 day wait. Oh The Horror!

69Mach1 11-12-2008 11:45 PM

OMG. It's the middle of November, and I didn't pick anything up, have anything in DROS, or need to pick anything up for this month. First time since Jan. Am I addicted to black rifles.....or the 10 day wait? :)

Juicymeat 11-13-2008 3:09 AM

I get to pick up my Glock 21 on the 21st...I found that a bit odd when I did the PPT.

Miltiades 11-13-2008 3:16 AM

Thank goodness for the wait...

The "wait" is designed for all you hot headed folks who bought that gun with some evil plan in mind to have 10 days to reconsider. Hopefully at the end of 10 days you will have cooled down and cancelled your planned crime.

Of course, if you already own one or more guns it doesn't make much sense, because you are already armed. But we can't expect the government to take that into account. One size fits all.

Vin496 11-13-2008 7:07 AM

52 hours till I get my Nighthawk PII!!

onikuma 11-13-2008 7:16 AM

my 10 day wait is over ;) i just can't go down to pick it up until this weekend. ;)

doc66 11-13-2008 7:23 AM

Ive got a 18 day wait (from 30) before I can even think of another 10 day wait. I just bought a gun and now have to wait the 30 days.

On another note, I was watching that show "Rookies" on A&E and one episode was a rookie cop who went into a gun store in Florida- looking for a personal carry 9mm. The scene was her at the counter, then in the range trying it out, then the store clerk putting the gun case in a plastic bag and her walking out with it! Oh how can this be.......

I know....I know....she is in Florida. :(

Kingofthehill 11-13-2008 7:25 AM

Thanks

Greg-Dawg 11-13-2008 7:27 AM

Play some Call of Duty 4 online and the 10 days will be seconds.

Because, you can only purchase a new handgun every 30 days even if it's in stock.

Kingofthehill 11-13-2008 7:35 AM

Thanks

Kingofthehill 11-13-2008 7:35 AM

sammy 11-13-2008 7:39 AM

You can all quit crying. I have been waiting for my Permier II from Les Baer for 4 months now. Still not here but when it arrives at my FFL I am going to wait another 10 days.

Maybe we're all just "cool headed folks" who bought our guns with an evil plan in mind.:chris:

My whole life right now is spent either in a 10 day wait, or waiting until the next one :)

Kishfisser 11-13-2008 10:52 AM

3 days 1 hour 5 minutes and 26,25,24,23,22,21 seconds

gwl 11-13-2008 12:04 PM

Waiting 5 more days for an FN.

ENTHUSIAST 11-13-2008 12:16 PM

One time it took 2 and half months on a custom upper order (lead times were estimated at 4-6 weeks at the time) only to have to ship it back to them (FTE problem) and wait another month for a new one!!! :(

100+ Days now that teaches a man patience. :D

I am currently FREAKING out because I started a DROS before my current custom order was started and now I am sweating bullets because if I cant pick up in 2 days the DROS will close and I will have to open another and then wait a total of 40 days!

ewxlt66 11-13-2008 1:16 PM

Sorry guys, I'm going to have to leave the support group. Just picked up my G17.

DDRH 11-13-2008 1:46 PM

Just one more day wait (11 day waiting period)...picking up my new FN 5.7 tomorrow :D

Question:

30 day's per hand gun...does that mean 30 days from the purchase date?

or

30 day's from pickup date?
