I'm ned to semi automatic rifles, but i'm thinking about building my first AR.

The bullet button seems legal and what not, i guess my question: is the lower able to accept a magazine and be detachable as in push a normal button just like a typical AR? Or does the lower not come with a detachable mechanism and thats why i would have to get a bullet button?

because it seems like just having this parts might be considered illegal...

so any insight would be useful, because i can't seem to find an answer from the CA DOJ on whether or not the bullet button is legal.

Thanks for your help

You need a tool. The reason it's called a Bullet Button is you use a Live round to press the Button. Then the magazine drops out. When you put the Magazine back in it locks.

your lower will not have any parts....you will need to buy a lower parts kit(lpk) and a bullet button and install the bullet button on the lower instead of the traditional mag release button. I hope that answers your question...

Your mag catch comes in your LPK if your building you own. The BB comes with its own spring and button that you replace you stock one with. (Before you install)OH and :xeno:

Have fun it a blast
you will find a lot of people on here with a lot of good info so read, read and read some more

First of all the Lower will come stripped and you will need to buy a LPK or lower parts kit. You can install a detachable mag only if you have a MMG on the Lower. Do a search on this to get better clarifications.

The CG thread below is REQUIRED READING.

I'd also suggest the Riflegear thread or Wes' here:
