I am looking to throw a Mosin Nagant tournament in Garner Valley near Idyllwild
I was thinking all model allowed iron sights/scoped shooting in all 3 positions at 100 and 200 $20 to enter winner takes all firring 3 groups in each position. Top 3 shoot again original score is calculated in final total score.

I have never through a tournament before, I thought it would be good friendly competition and a chance to meet fellow members.

Anyone interested?

Would you be willing to expand it other surplus rifles or just Moisin Nagants?

Let there be a Mosin Nagant class but have other rifles as well. No need to limit the fun!

I'm interested in finding out where you go shooting in Garner Valley.... I don't have a Mosin, but I want to go shooting out there, as I have family in those parts. A google map would be best, thanks in advance.

Ok let's do other rifle but it has to be fair
there is no way a nagant can go up against a mouser or 03
but let's meet up and go from there

On ammo can we shoot steel core up there? Most of the surplus ammo is steel core. I have some that's lead core but it isn't as accurate. Mark

If you're trying to be fair, you'd have to standardize the ammo

millsurp vs handloaded match rounds won't fair too well.

m39, m27, or m28-30 are very accurate and would fare very well against any ww2 era rifle.
