Please PLEASE don't do this or help propagate this idiocy.

This will NOT have a favorable effect, won't help us at all, no one pays attention to these things. (How many loons throw themselves on the Capitol steps every year? How much traction do they get? NONE.)

If I could shut this down I would: all that'll happen is TV news crews will find the one illiterate trailerpark guy in cammies and give him 2 minutes to spout some invective.

Not only that, that guy in cammies might be a rent-a-mob guy working for the Bradys.

Sam Paredes of GOC is trying to act like he's doing something. (I'm surprised CRPA is backing this/announcing this as they're supposed to have some new, wiser leadership now.)

Far far more effective (the limits are only gunnies' participation!) is the Calif NRA's "Virtual Lobby Day" on Tuesday, May 6.

I've included a copy of the CalNRA ERT emailed to me below:

VIRTUAL LOBBY-DAY, Tuesday, May 6, 2008
Join us and help defeat the ammunition registration bill AB 2062

IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED!!!
IT'S TIME TO LIGHT-UP THE PHONES IN SACRAMENTO!

In Sacramento, the anti-gun hysteria is at a fever pitch, and extremist groups and legislators are promoting even more of it.

Working in conjunction with the NRA-ILA State Liaison, Ed Worley, the NRA Members' Councils (http://www.calnra.com/) have - for the last several years - used their latest Internet based communication system to deliver a crushing volume of calls, faxes and emails into the State Capitol. IT WILL SOON BE TIME TO INCREASE THE PRESSURE ON SACRAMENTO!

One of the biggest threats to firearms owners is AB 2062 (http://nramemberscouncils.com/legs.shtml?summary=ab2062&year=2008). Assembly Bill 2062 (De Leon) imposes:
(1) an ammunition purchasers permit requirement for Californians to purchase handgun ammo
(2) a fee for each Handgun ammo purchase
(3) requires a state license to sell ammunition
(4) more unfair restrictions on law-abiding gun owners.............

YOU CAN HELP PROTECT THE 2nd AMENDMENT AND STOP ANTI-FREEDOM SCHEMES LIKE AB 2062!!!

SITUATION; AB 2062 is a clear and present danger to all firearms owners in California! The NRA has been actively opposing AB 2062. Refer to the following pages for more information:

http://www.calnra.com/calerts/calert040108.shtml (http://www.calnra.com/calerts/calert040108.shtml) & http://www.calnra.com/calerts/calert040808.shtml (http://www.calnra.com/calerts/calert040808.shtml) .

WHAT YOU CAN DO: Tell the Legislators to stop supporting ill-conceived gun control proposals, such as the AB 2062 ammunition sales restriction scheme, by participating in NRA's Virtual Lobby-Day on Tuesday, May 6th.

RIGHT NOW: Send this message to every gun owner you know. Include all: gun clubs, stores, ranges, RKBA groups, etc. Cross-post this on the Internet - on web sites and firearm-related forums. Email this link http://www.calnra.com/calerts/calert042908.shtml to everyone you know.

RIGHT NOW: On the Internet, go to the California Legislative Contact Page at: http://www.calnra.com/legs.shtml and use our ONE-CLICK email delivery system to contact the Assembly with a single message in opposition to AB 2062. Note: emails will be received in the legislators offices with the "From:" field set to the ORIGINAL SENDER. Remember that you are sending a single Email to several people. You should address your message accordingly. Example: Dear Assembly Member, . (Legislators will not see that they are receiving the same message as the others.)

TUESDAY, MAY 6TH: Call and Fax the legislature and voice your opposition to more gun control proposals! And make those phone calls/faxes between 9:00AM until 4:00PM. Those firearms owners who can travel to the State Capitol will be visiting the legislative offices at the same time your calls and faxes will be arriving. Please be polite while you get your point across to them! The combination of your calls, faxes, and emails, together with those personal visits, will show the legislators that California's firearms owners strongly opposed AB 2062 and similar legislative proposals. Contact information, including phone and fax numbers, is listed on the CA Legislative Contact Pages at: http://www.calnra.com/legs/asm.shtml (http://www.calnra.com/legs/asm.shtml) . Together, our voices will be heard and we can stop the
anti-freedom forces and win back our rights!

I was and am so glad that my Assembly Member Paul Cook
of the 65th opposes such legislation. He ran on a strong
pro 2nd Amendment platform and has stayed true.

All, lets just make the calls and hope that we don't end up with bad press on this thanks to our good friends at CRPA and GOC...

No one from our side should do this, nor openly display that type of attitude if a trip to Sacramento is undertaken. It is counter-productive. If you want to be taken seriously by our state legislators, you need to present yourself professionally and be able to communicate in a well thought out and articulate manner. This goes for any correspondence-email/letters/phone calls/in person, etc.

its sarcaslm directed at those people that are the slime that has ruined the state. they do deserve the Jack Booted Thug title plain and simple. they do not deserve any respect other than the title of the office they have smeared into the ground. that much is true. they have ruined the respect of public official to thug status IMO. i would not go to these rallies. it's too far and i do have work. i'm no worthless gov emplyee as some see us here! i have some choice words for these people. and no they are no polite. i would however state that to them in private given the chance.

i know they would be all smug about since that is the arrogance this slime has towards us and the population at large anyway. these are the same people that have all the answers for us. government can do everything.

i like many here are sick and tired of the crap that spews from the mouths of these people. they just don't say it. since i have grown up in this state and have watched go down the preverbial toilet. these people have destroyed this state to the point that it is the laughing stock of the nation.

there are smart people in this state but year after year election after election these slimeballs are in office. and yes i know of the gerrymandered districts. and no one here should be so arrogant to tell me not to suggest bringing jack boots to these people. they are what they are plain and simple. it would not be done in a manner to disgrace us.

it would be a manner of protest to the business as usual in Krapamento. a silent protest at that. and if you think for one second i'm some redneck fool i'm not. i'm just sick and tired of the BS that we have to put up with year after year. i'm no fool and no idiot for those who think that way. and yes i do think some people here think that! arrogance people does not become an intelligent person.

frustration is what we have here. the media alone will paint us all and especially the ones at the capitol as gun nuts and rednecks; and or hillbilles who want to hang on to their guns and protest "common sense" legislation. for us to change the view of the media by this protest is ubsurd it will take many years to do that. and the way this state is going we won't be allowed to own firearms; regardless of what Heller does . this state will not follow Federal rule anytime soon.

this is a rant merely that. off topic yes it is. but an answer to the reason i call these worthless slime office Jack Booted Thugs". what they have done is unforgivable in my eyes.

i just wish the people of this state would use their heads come election day and send these guys a PINK slip that you are FIRED! and dont come back!

No indication what Rules did with it - on-line info (http://leginfo.ca.gov/cgi-bin/postquery?bill_number=ab_2062&sess=CUR&house=A&search_type=bill_update) shows last action on 4/9, supposed to go to Appropriations next.

This is what we don't want in front of the capital talking to the media, no matter how right they may be.

I agree 100%. I was about to post something about that but you already have.

Protests make a group seem crazy. Berkeley has protests every weekend. It's angry ranting people with no power.

Yep. Last year Mary Leigh Blek (and her husband), working for the Bradys, were cruising around Assembly & Senate offices on a real tirade. She was making such a ruckus nobody wanted to talk to her (even if sympathetic) and she was near-forcibly-ejected from some offices.
