So I was looking at the Bushy Carbon 15 .22lr upper kit but I can't find it anywhere. So I was wondering about the spikes M4 .22 upper is it any good? Will it fit on a stag lower or do I have to buy the spike dedicated .22 lower? Any opinions on another .22 conversion that might work better. Thanks guys!

Spikes makes good stuff. Your lower will work fine.

a 22 lower is same as a standard 223/5.56 just marked as 22lr

Spikes > Bushmaster.

The higher quality Black Dog magazines alone make the Spike's a better choice, especially given what Bushmaster is charging for 8 round .22 magazines (if you can find them).

Add to that all the different customizations you can make when ordering your Spike's upper, and the choice is even more clear.

I've been toying with the idea of making a .22 AR.... the range in Los Gatos allows rapid firing of rimfire only...

I'd already own one but I'm not to eager to sit on a waiting list...
I have every faith in Spike's product though.
Waiting for review of new model with hard chrome bolt...

Not a hard chrome bolt, but an electoless nickle finish. Smoother slippier finish.

I went with the Model 1 Sales 22LR upper. Put it on a Stag lower. 20" Barrel. Fun Gun.
Over 750 rounds and only 1 FTE. Great upper.
But, I did just get the Spikes 22LR lower.

While perhaps adviseable, theres not really a requirement to use a ".22lr" marked lower correct? And since its a .22, pre-ban high capacity magazines and no bullet button is allowed?

Correct. You can use any lower you want, the markings on it don't matter. Also, mags with a capacity greater than 10 rounds are legal to use without a bullet button.

So do you know if your model 1 sales upper will function with Spike's black dog mags? I stocked up a while back on the mags before I bought an upper...

The Model 1 system uses ciener converions, so they should work well with the Black dog mags.

Does anyone make a 22 upper with a 1:9 twist. I am buying it specifically to shoot the Aguilar SSS 60 grain 22s.

Black Dog mags work great with my Model 1 upper.
Not a problem at all with the mags.
Great mags, just need to get some sort way to load them faster.
I heard that BDM was coming out with new mags that you can depress the follower like a Ruger 22 mag to load easier. I did see some that a guy did himself, worked great.
